PAULA ABDUL did not call the ukulele a "guitar"; she was referring to Jason's "definitive sound" which includes his guitar. She has more intelligence than you give her credit for. PAULA'S JOB is to give the contestants some dignity to hold onto, in case it doesn't go so well with Randy and Simon. When you look at her that way, I'd say she's really good at her job. I've gained a lot of respect for her this year once I started paying attention to what she is really doing. I'm a big Jason Castro fan. I'm glad he's done so well. I know he'll have a great recording career in front of him, no matter what happens on "Idol".

Am I the only one who thinks Johns was way overrated, shouted through every song and had pitch problems all over the place?? Come on, people, he totally laced originality. This is where Jason comes in. I would LOVE to see him win it all. He's pure and different. However, I think the teeny bopper fan base won't let that happen. It's likely Archuletta who will win that title.

I agree. I think David Archuleta will win. But' they sure have quite a line up this season. I would like to see Carly'David Cook and David Archuleta in the top three.

Well here we go again. In vocal talent this week; #1-David C Once again, good vocal ranges, strong performance, made song his own. #2-Syeesha Continued high/low vocal ranges, strong performance, although she was criticized for putting too much personality into song.(?) #3-David A Started flat in vocal ranges, however last 3rd of songs he continually recovered. Seems not as tense as in past weeks. #4-Brooke Still flat in vocal ranges, however she stayed safe using the musical instruments, provided a little distraction from the voice. Flat #5-Castro As usual, he tried to play it safe with songs that required little vocal range, which is a shame because even though he is limited, he has potential in future years.
Ok, now the reality of voting. Syeesha will be going home this week, and Cook is in danger next week. The voting is not about the talent, but the looks and popularity.
