David, I think you would be wiser to dissect the arguments rather than assume others are bashing you.
I have yet to come across a post from any person, gay or straight, that has bashed heterosexuals for being heterosexual. I have seen attacks on arguments made by heterosexuals, but it has been based on the content of the message they offered and not their sexuality. On the other hand, I have seen several posts from several people that have bashed homosexuals for being homosexual. If you are saying you are going to be here to protect heterosexuality, I think you can put down your rifle now. |

“Dimensions Beyond Left & Right” Since: Feb 07

Only people who are insecure in their own sexuality would be "uncomfortable" with someone else's sexuality. Moreover, your survival does not depend on the sexuality of anyone else beyond one act performed in the span of a few moments involving the sperm and the egg of your own biological parents. Actually, its thanks goes to the meeting of a fertile sperm with a fertile egg that we exist. It doesn't matter whether the donors of the sperm and the egg are homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, transsexual or pansexual. Plenty of gay folks have biological children, grand children and great grandchildren. No one has to be innately heterosexually oriented in order to produce biological children. As far as marriage goes, marriage is only for those who can successfully produce children, then we need to make some major changes with regards to the right to marry. First, everyone who has already produced a biological child would have the right to marry -- whether they are gay, straight, bisexual, transsexual or pansexual. Second, anyone who has not yet produced a biological child should not have the right to marry. This goes for straights as well as those of other sexual orientations. I know plenty of straight couples who cannot have children or choose not to have children. They would be somewhat alarmed, I'm sure, to discover they don't have a right to marry. Oh well. Finally, we would need to first determine who can produce biological children before we grant the right to marry. Thus, the first born child of every adult would have to be conceived outside of wedlock. Only upon the advent of a succesful live birth could that person be granted the right to marry. |

"I see a light in the sky Oh, it's almost blinding me I can't believe I've been touched by an angel with love Let the rain come down and wash away my tears Let it fill my soul and drown my fears Let it shatter the walls for a new, new sun A new day has...come" A New Day - Celine Dion |
