[POLL] Who is the Best Superman?

Nov 6, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: 411mania.com

A lot of actors have put on the cape from George Reeves way back in the 1950s and Christopher Reeve in Superman through Superman IV: The Quest for Peace to TV versions such as Dean Cain in Lois & Clark to Tom Welling in Smallville .

I like Dean Cain when he played the TV version of Superman/Clark Kent, but Christopher Reeve will always be the one true Superman.Even in death he epitomized who Superman was.His spirit was Superman.

Christopher Reeve, no contest... may he rest in peace.

He and Margot Kidder will always be the Lois & Clark who defined my generation.

And, by the way, Happy 82nd Birthday to Lex Luthor aka Gene Hackman!

He's the actor in Smallville?

I often wondered why they didn't just spin him off into the Superman movies now that he's of the perfect age to take over that part of the epic saga?

Yes he is the actor in Smallville. The actor that was in Superman Returns was okay but he did not seem to have the range emotional acting that Tom Welling has.

I agree that they should use Tom Welling in the new Superman movies. HE would do an exceptional job at them. Definitely a talented actor.

And the Smallville series just ended, right?

It would make perfect sense for Tom Welling to continue the role as he's now just at the age when Clark Kent moved to Metropolis... but the PTB on characters like Superman, Batman, Bond, et al don't seem to understand the importance of keeping a continuity of actors playing a role.

I was let down to hear Ed Norton would not return as The Hulk, also.

Yeah the series just ended after 10 seasons. It would be nice to see someone that at least resembles the character the best.

Ten years of back story, that's a lot of addition to the Superman Mythos to just toss aside...

That is exactly what I thought. They did a really good job covering his early history, and his past with Lex Luther. A very well made show indeed.

Is this a joke question? Christopher Reeve wins
By a mile. i wasn't even born than and he still the best. better than brandon routh, dean cain. And even the ones from the 40s. Even go as far to say if it wasnt for christopher reeve. Superman wouldnt be as well known as he is know. be more like flash or frankenstein. Historic imaginary figure, but not as big.
