Miley Cyrus continued on her road to superstardom with a controversial pole-dancing performance on the Teen Choice Awards.

I think the media needs to give it a rest, there was nothing wrong with what Miley did. There was nothing nasty or disgusting about her performance. Come on, people use those poles now for exercise. They call it the fitness pole. But no one will say anything bad about someone using that in their home now will they. She is growing up and very mature for her age so just let it be and get a life.

She is growing up. She is 16 yrs old. There is nothing wrong with pole dancing. The poles are used for fittness. Fire fighters have been sliding down poles for 100's of yrs, and no one seems to be complaining about them using poles.

I watched the whole video. 99 percent of the time she just stood next to it holding onto it. She wasn't dancing to it like the news media hyped it up to be. They made a mountain out of a mole hill. The picture on the news showed the first two seconds of her singing crouched down. The rest of the performance around the pole was just standing there holding it. The pole was used more as a prop.

It is her decision to dance on the pole if she chooses to, but Disney should cancel any contracts. Little kids look up to her, so is it okay to let them see her slide on a pole? I dont think so. I cannot believe her dad would allow her to do something so trashy and degrading. She is 16 yrs old. Not 26 yrs old. I wouldnt want my small kids or tweens looking at her as a role model. Thats trashy and for adults. Not kids or tweens like her.

So Britney was dancing on a pole in the Gimme More video and she was what 25 at the time . So is Miley can dance like Britney can so can she . She is a celebrity she can do anything she wants . I wish I could say I am shocked, not only by the performance, but some of the people who think this is OK. Nothing wrong with pole dancing? We are not foing down the toilet, we are in the sewer already. Chris Rock said it best when he said his only job as a father is to keep his daughter off of the pole (meaning stripper pole). Billy Ray put his child (and she is a child) on one himslef. Kinda makes you wonder after the creepy pictures of her laying in his lap.

Folks, get a grip on yourselves. There is everything wrong with her dancing on a stripper pole and everything wrong with being a stripper. But, it has brought attention to a below average singer with below average ooks and way below average acting skills (good enough for teens...I know). You have to give it to her "handlers", they came up with a really creative approach...go slutty. Something we have never seen before. The pedophiles should enjoy the video and her sperm donor (Billy Ray) should enjoy the money, so all is not lost. And who wouldn't idolize Madonna and Britney...they seem like such well adjusted, happy people.

It is a childish response to say "SHE HAS A RIGHT TO...." Nobody disputes she can be as slutty as she wants to be, but there is a HUGE difference between someone having the "right" to do something and the morality of what a child chooses to do. Children were protected in the past out of wisdom for their lack of maturity. Not so anymore. I question the morality of her sperm donor (Billy Ray) first and foremost, Nickelodeon second, FOX third, and Miley herself. Disney certainly has produced some trashy girls.

Actually the last thing Miley needs or wants is for people to leave her alone. the minute they do that and Miley's sexual antic become "ho hum", she disappears. Sadly, she has a huge following and has made a fortune being the good little girl. If she played it right and transitioned to films using talent and good acting like going into indie films, she could have a very long career. But she has chosen to become the sexpot of the month instead. Sexpots of the month come and go pretty fast so as soon as someone else comes along to get everyone outraged and excited, Miley will be yesterday's news. And yesterday's news is the status that Miley fears the most.
