What is Gumbel's problem? He calls the quarters "periods". He needs a period on the end of his career now. He is severly over-rated.

Tonight he said the Seattle Seahawks were going to be in the "tournament" in a few weeks.

I just Googled "Bryant Gumbel Sucks + NFL" and I knew I would get a "hit". He is terrible at calling games. He doesn't know the NFL terminology at all it seems. He probably has a NFL terms book and didn't even read it. Chris Collinsworth is probably thinking WTF did they hire this F#cker for?

He can't hold a candle to his brother Greg's game calling. I wonder has he told him that he sucks yet? He should.

Bryant Gumbel sucks so bad. I refuse to listen to the broadcast. I'll stick with the Dallas radio broadcast which is top notch with Brad Sham.

Gumbel! shut the F up.

I my god Bryant Gumbel sucks! He made so many mistakes in the Packers game last night, I muted the TV. He flat out does not understand football. He must go.

I agree. I can't believe someone actually thought this would be a good idea. I've never heard anyone as bad as Gumbel. Totally boring and he obviously doesn't have a clue about play by play. Send him back to morning TV.

Gumbel doesn't even know the players names, anyone watching the Chiefs-Raiders game? he's doing his usual bad announcing.

Why does it sound like he is constantly fighting Dick Vermiel? Does his ego need to be so on top that he can't afford to have someone make a comment without him trying to top the comment? He must be replaced immediately or NFL will lose cred with its TV experiment.

Who heard him say the "shot clock" was winding down this past week? I think that was the best one I've heard so far. I agree though - he is absolutely horrible. His voice is as annoying is anything, but his football knowledge sucks as well. I finally turned the volume off, and am listening online with Sirius.

Yeah and on the Chief's 3rd and 15 incompletion he said the Chief's turn it over on downs. Then they miss a field goal and he never says a word about his blunder.

Bryant Gumbel's voice is too weak and lacks any gusto or enthusiasm for the game. It is like listening to someone announcing the play of a golf tournament instead of an NFL football game. I fall asleep before half time just about every game! Not a very resounding endorsement for the NFLN! I agree Greg Gumbel is far superior.

No he doesn't just suck ... he's the epitome of WEAK. Watching Tiki Barber have his career game against the Redskins, Gumbel offered no emotion during ANY of Barber's monstrous plays. Gumbel needs to take a long walk on a short plank and just plummet so no one ever has to hear him suck ever again! God, he blows!!!

Will this guy be back next year? If the NFL network allows that, it will go down as the worst decision ever. They cannot be this blind. Sure he has the name but he can't hold a candle to his brother. I would rather they get Mike Tyson in the booth to do play by play, now that would be entertaining.

Gummebear, wants to be view as an egghead, above all of us! But he is not a athlete or was he a profession player at anything. He may never have played as even a amateur player. Can he even catch a ball?

Hearing Harry Kalas's voice on all the promos for the sponsors on the NFL net. broadcasts was such a tease. They should go out and get Kalas next year and bring a true experienced professional who definately deserves to be calling national NFL contests...

The Cowboys are playin the Packers, he counted the players on the field trying to agree with the ref and counted out loud 12 players on defense but he counted 11 players and 1 ref saying " yep thats 12 where i come from". what a stupid bastard.
