TV mailbag

There are 198 comments on the Chicago Tribune story from Dec 30, 2007, titled TV mailbag. In it, Chicago Tribune reports that:

- What was the last series Dana Delany was on before she joined 'Desperate Housewives'? -- Peter Hopper, Chicago She had an abbreviated run as the mother of the young abduction victim in the NBC series 'Kidnapped.' The Emmy winner had moved to New York for that show, and after its early cancellation, she stayed to do a play before returning to the West Coast -- and the now tornado-ravaged Wisteria Lane -- on her current ABC series. - I am impressed with the acting of Poppy Montgomery on 'Without a Trace.' I know I saw her in some other television show or movie years ago. What are her other credits? -- Bart Bartholomew, West Bend, Wis. The Australian-born actress -- who, at this writing, was expecting her first child with actor boyfriend Adam Kaufman around Christmas -- was a regular on the mid-1990s show 'Relativity' and appeared on such other series as 'NYPD Blue' and 'Party of Five' before landing her first major starring role as Marilyn Monroe in the 2001 mini-series 'Blonde.' Montgomery followed that with a regular part as Ellie in the WB Network show 'Glory Days' (which also helped launch Emily VanCamp, later of 'Everwood' and now of 'Brothers & Sisters'), then 'Without a Trace' came very shortly afterward. Montgomery also starred in the fact-inspired 2005 Lifetime movie 'Murder in the Hamptons'; her theatrical films include 'Dead Man on Campus,' 'Life' and 'The Other Sister.' - 'A Christmas Carol' with Alastair Sim is my favorite version of the tale. Are there any plans to release it on DVD? -- Terry Burch, Monroe, Wash. Actually, it's already available on the VCI label. You may want to move fast if you want it now; many stores have specific displays of Christmas-related DVDs, and those tend to be taken down right after the holidays. - Will there be a season-two DVD set of 'Heroes'? -- Mark Green, Clifton, N.J. We're sure there will be, but regardless of when the NBC show starts up again after the writers strike, that set likely wouldn't come out until just before the series' third year begins. By that, we mean the full third year; creator-producer Tim Kring has been trying to position the second year's episodes that have aired so far as a season unto themselves, but any other new episodes that appear between now and spring still will be part of the second season. ----------- Send questions to: . Only those selected will be answered. via Chicago Tribune

Looking for info about a movie that came out, I believe in the 80's about a woman who got a job to go to the back woodsABOUT and to write and record the music that the people there sang. she was not well liked or trusted by them in the beginning, but later was. when she was done and planning to return home an accident occured and all her notes of music were lost.

Very disappointed to read that "Cane" starring Jimmy Smits has been canceled.I loved that show and looked forward to it's return. The only reason it had low ratings is because it was put on against "Boston Legal" Please bring back!

I was wondering what happened to John Gibson on the Fox News Network? He used to be on at 5-6pm.
I thought with all of the election stuff going on that that was why there was someone else on , but he still hasn't returned. Will he be back?

The background music from "The Tudors" sounds a lot like the music from "Deadwood". Is that possible? Also the score from John Adams sounds like the score from "Last of the Mohicans" (Daniel Day Lewis). Please enlighten me.

I can't believe how many new programs that I had in TiVo have been cancelled. It seems to me the 4 major networks don't really care what we, the viewers, want to watch. I will miss CSI, Cane, Men in Trees, Moonlight and Las Vegas. I am so sick of reality programming I have decided to start watching cable network programs. ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX you don't exist in my home anymore!
