Where is this coming from? This young soldier is a beautiful, wonderful example of what is right in our military. She used the training she recieved and helped others without concern about her own injuries. You first two posters should be ashamed of yourselves.
Ms. Bahr, thank you for your service to our country! You truly are an American hero.

For years, our government, aided, encouraged & intimidated by organizations such as CARE & the ACLU, allowed hate to fester in Mosques & Muslim communities throughout the US. It's not surprising that "home grown" Islamic terrorists are now wreaking havoc. The question is, will we throw the bums out & demand change, or simply wring our hands & say, "Gee, it's a shame people have to die, but we can't mess with free speech and religion.

Wouldn't it be be ironic if CARE and the ACLU were the next targets?? What would they say then??

my chief fears backlash for Muslim U.S. soldiers

"I'm concerned that this increased speculation could cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers. And I've asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that," Casey told CNN's "State of the Union."

Diversity and multiculturalism are not strengths. They have become our Achilles heel.

I can only imagine the wave of BS that will now follow. Sensitivity training... It's coming, guaranteed,

General Casey may very well understand the situation as well as or better than any of us. Unfortunately though, as a general officer, he is as much a political appointee as he is a military one. He has to know that, regardless of what he personally thinks should be done, if he says too much he could find himself in command of a latrine and the new man in his present office would probably be much worse than we think he is.

Sounds convoluted, I know, but sometimes the shortest route to a point isn’t a straight line... especially in politics.

Kind of cool from a 'girl power' perspective that two soldiers who stepped up in heroic fashion are women. They executed their training with precision and with only their comrades' safety in mind. No hesitation to consider their own mortality, just immediate action. Not are they American heroines, but strong examples for young women in particular.
