1- yes . I am from S.P. I now live and work in Nashville. I hope ro move back home in the future.
2-best for who? You....: yes, i would love to do this job as an independent contractor. As far as me wanting the Animal ControlDirector's job....yes! It would give me the opprotunity to move back home . I am not sure the City would play ball with me. My asking price would be $45,000 per year.
as far as keeping the job "local" -it appears a agency out of Chattanooga has the inside track.
As far as $50 per cat goes, contact any major private animal removal service and get some quotes! you will see, indeed,$50 per cat is the "home town discount"!
Lastly, sign,or draw., your name!
Right its ALL FOR YOU an Screw "THE PEOPLE"...For one...I dont care what the rates are for NATIONAL...We are a small town an just dont have funds for such "BIG CITY" type programs
And like i said you have a job up there in Nashville we got folks that live here an have stayed her an paid tax's here that could use a job...an at $45,000 a year..heck the Mayor could hire TWO people at that rate an it'd be a raise in pay for most of them.
Im sorry....ive seen you do try this before....
I think you over rate yourself an you want to take advantage of folks in this small community.
I Personaly think we can do this job for ourselves ALOT cheaper an with ALOT less EGO.
As far as my name..What difference does it make what my name is...it should be enough that you know im a tax paying "RESIDENT" here...an disagree with you an what you are trying to pull.
You ask my name like its some sort of threat,What are you going to do...use your connections an "GET EVEN" with me or some childish BS????
If you are SO QUALIFYIED Nationaly...Go get a job in some "BIG CITY" that has the funds for state of the art humane society stystem.
Im betting though that your idea of $45,000 is ONLY FOR YOU....THen you'll request the city claiming you cant do said job with out national aproved state of the are faciliitys....Which will be even MORE of our moneys we DONT HAVE....An then you'll want supplyed a vehicle an on an on an it'll be a never ending thing with you...ive seen this too many times....So NO i dont agree an i dont think YOU are the person for the job.

Dont know if this is really you or someone on here trying to act as if they are you again.that has happened on here before.anyway the cat problem is really bad where i live behind Rudders market it is the dumping ground along with the boat dock in our town i say.i have one cat and at least 15 or 20 cats flood my yard on certain days and its not the cats fault.people just load them up and drop them off here and add to mine and everyone elses problem down here.why will the City or County not pick them up?i will not kill them or take them somewhere else just wish someone would do their job.i will go around town and pick them up for 20 dollars a cat Rusty.I could easily catch 10 a day right now but the numbers would soon go down because i would actually DO my job.i think that is the way it should pay.get payed for the work you perform not just for your title. now we have a bidding war Rusty or maybe you will need some help if you get the job.i hope someone gets it anyway

It is the Rusty Martin from 301 Holly Ave. Mary Ida and rance's son.
$50- do not feel threatened. I just like to know whom I am debating with 1 that's all.
yes, I would need a truck and maybe 1 officer and an adnin person. And of course, the animal control facility would have to be upgraded. We would need some vet services also! None of this is free!

$50- what exactly do you think I am trying to pull? How dare that Rusty ask for a job? Egad, Muffin!

$50- take my advise: spend some quality time with a member of the opposite sex!

Just while discussing this youve went from YOU to TWO Employees at least....Plus a truck an up graded facilitys....LIke i predicted...
I say GREAT if you do that ALL on that $45,000 you ask for...but some how i doubt thats what you had in mind....
Like i said we have folks right here...thats lived here an paid tax's here all along that need the job an could do so alot cheaper then you.
If your so qualified..take your expertise to some larger town that can aford it.

I think your trying to suck your way into a goverment job with a unending money supply...I think youre the type that no matter how poor of a job you do you'll always fall back on the "IF I HAD THE FUNDING" for a exscuse.
Its obvious your EGO is way bigger then your abilitys,This we DONT NEED an have had ENOUGH OF..From our last Mayor.
You childishness in the fact that you resort to name calling and assuming i lack in my sex life...Makes me an others even MORE SURE We dont need you.
This conduct show's how petty an childish you can be...Again..."JUST WHAT WE DONT NEED MORE OF HERE".....
So Rusty...I do wish you well where you are...an i do Hope our new mayor has enough sense not to hire you..if she does...i got a feeling she'll be a one term mayor...

Oh Fifty.... no sense of humor , eh??

Sure, the city can hire 2 or 3 people with no experience for $45,000.
How dare the Animal control director have a vehicle, an officer, and a clerk. Who in the heck does he think he is? Some kinda qualified professional.??

Does the city want the cats removed? Then it will not be free! Can't have champagne taste on a beer budget!

I was not aware i called you a name. "Egad! Muffin " is an expression of sarcastic shock. please do not be offended!

yes, believe it or not, running an effective animal control program is cash intensive.

If the city does it on the cheap and hires Bubba Ray, Devon, and Spike with a pick up truck, they will not have the budget to do it right but they will have the budget to do it over!

No sense a humor? Whats the joke other then you an your responce's here??
Lets see..you've went for "ASKING FOR A JOB" to Needing Help an a truck an state of the art facilitys,to now DIRECTOR...like i said..we dont need nor can we aford your EGO let alone your ideals here.
Do you realize just to pay for what you ask in wages $45,000 ALONE....at $50 a cat..you'd have to pick up over 900 cats a year?? Thats not including Gas,or a truck or food for cats or ANYTHING Else...just picking them up...
See the JOKE here is you an your idea that this town has such a problem we need to have such a operation.
You started out with just charging the city $50 per cat...Then you wanted $45,000 a year{JUST SO YOU CAN COME HOME"..smh...To Wanting a assistant..an then needing a secretary an a truck,an new state of art facilitys.Like i said its a never ending expense with you an you havent even gottn started yet....
Let me put this in a way you might understand here...
The CURE{YOU} Costs more then the ailment. An we just dont have a problem so great that we need to pour all this moneys into the cure.
Using your words here..You want $45,000 to be "DIRECTOR" an then two assistants lets say for the cheap here at $20,000 a year..THen a truck..thats about $50,000 an then a state of the art facilitys thats gonna be at the very least somewhere over $100,000 Then lets say vet's out sourced would be at the very least another $20,000,This adds up to over $255,000 an thats not including gas, utilitys an other operating expense's
Like i said we dont have that big of a problem ...this little town cant aford your IDEALs here.
An like i said before...why should you get paid an given a position to "COME HOME" when we have folks here thats paid tax's here an supported this community ALL along...thats out of work an needs the job.
We dont have enough cats an dogs in this town to support such a opperation.
Im sure as soon as you got here you'd start this UP IN NASHVILLE WE DID SUCH AN SUCH an PSST this AINT NASHVILLE an we dont have the FUNDs for such...
Like i said before..I wish you well where you are...but we dont need nor can we aford you.
I do Pray our Mayor puts her pencil to this before she even considers hiring you.

Fifty: a few clarifications here!
1- the $50 per cat quote was simply for me to come in as an "independant contractor" and trap and remove the cats.

The $45k was a separate offer to come in and be the Animal Control Director.

Actually, let clarify another point. It is not so much an on going expense with me subjectively but an objective expense with any QUALITY Animal control program. If S.P. tries to "half ass"it, it will be the most expensive hobby the city has ever had. See my earlier point: If you do not spend the cash to do it right the first time , you will spend the money to do it over!"

50; we would not put up with a 2nd rate football team but we put up with a 2nd rate Animal control program? Really? seriously?

As far as paying me to come home goes, consider this: I am from S.P. there would be no temptation for me to leave for a nother job or to use S.P. as a stepping stone. This would be my last job before I retire.

The city can hire Moe, Larry and Curly but just do not look for a whole lot of expertise from a low bid crew! Just remember; you get what you pay for!

You would not let Joe Crap the Rag Man do brain surgery on a loved one but you will trust some slob off the street to work with animals that can carry serious and possibly fatal zoonotic diseases into your community!
50, I have concluded you are indeed asleep @ the wheel!

WOW you sure do alot of FLIP FLOPING??
Again...This town is not big enough for the operation youre dreaming of What are you talkin HALF Aing it??...We need them removed not given red carpet treatment
As far as your analogy of FootBall team an animal control..I didnt know animal control invovled our kids an was a "STATE COMPITION" or a "SPECTATOR SPORT"?? Can we sell Tickets?? an where's the bleachers here?? SMH
What do you mean you wont leave..you done LEFT ONCE an want paid to COME BACK...whats to keep you from not threating to leave to get a RAISE or some other petty BS??
You didnt address the fact that we dont have enough stray animals in this town to justify such a expence...Your just lookn for a cushie job to rip off the people of this town...Like i said Go to some big city that can aford your BIG ideals...
Right you get what you pay for...An..Since i started talking to you...ive learned that we dont need you at all an folks are already dealing with the problem...An these folks are getting paid $50 for every animal they deliver.
So Rusty ..seems its YOU thats "ASLEEP AT THE WHEE"...NOT ME...LOL
I just home the Mayor learns of this an stops all other meetings with you over such a "IDEAL RETIREMENT" Program for you.
Do you realize how stupid you look here...You dont have anyone fooled...Stay up there in Nashville where they can handle your EGO.
We dont need problem people like you here...Nor can we aford you.

As far as leaving goes, I am close to retiring back to S.P. so this would be a win -win for every one. I get to come home, the animals get someone that cares about them and the city gets to hire an experienced animal control specialist.

Just to clarify another point, I have not had any meetings personally with the Mayor, just a facebook conversation.

50, remember rabies is fatal. When that child is bitten by a rabid animal and dies ,I want you to be the 1st to let the parents know,"We could not afford a rabies control officer!"

Why should we pay for you to come home to retire??
Youre trying to say if you was here an had this job you would guarantee no one would get bit by a sick or rabid animal??
There's that EGO again we cant aford...
As for these parents...you get them to agree to add over a $100 a year to their property tax's. See what they say.
Like i keep telling you ..its nothing personal...its simply we cant aford you or your ideals...No different then the fact we dont have a big hospital here that can take care of ALL emergencys...
Im sure some parents with kids are heart broke when the need is there an this community cant provide..but...Thats FACTs of life...
You keep taking this personal...an you name call an attack.Instead of being an adult an accepting the facts.....
You use scare taticts but ignore the numbers...That alone makes me smell a rat...an "ALL FOR YOUR COMING HOME AN RETIRING"...SMH

Here ya go Rusty...if you'd do your home work rather then spew your scare tatics....
This proves just HOW IGNORANT you are an that tells me youre not near as qualified as you claim.
ALL to land a cushie job to come home an retire...Sad you'd try to use folks like you do.

According to the CDC website only one or two people die each year in the USA of rabies. It is usually because they were unaware they were exposed. Most animals in the US that carry rabies are wild. i.e racoons, foxes and bats. Domestic dogs and cats hardly ever have rabies.

Really? I have followed topix for a while and it seems to me this family cannot catch a break with this. That's right. His name was in the paper. We ALL know this. What you seem to forget is that he was not Guilty on any charges. You need to lay it to rest. If I was this family I would for once and all get a warrant to search all the IP addresses of all sites on topix and prosecute to the fullest extent. Then see how you like your name(s) in the (Hustler)!

What are you talking about "FAMILY CANT GET A BREAK"...
How's disagreeing with this an the figures i provided PROVING this town cant aford such a endevor,Attacking "THE FAMILY"???
I dont know anything about any names or charges.Your implying so is very offencive an show's you havent read a thing posted.
This seems to be no more then a deflection from the facts an making this look personal when ive went out of my way to NOT Make it personal, even to the point of over looking the personal jab's an name calling from Mr Martin.
So i suggest if you have some complaint about someone posting on here...make your own thread.Dont be implying those that disagree with this town paying for Mr Martins retirement back home an spending between a quarter an half a million dollars to do this is personal. If you would have read what ive posted..ive broke it down...Thats around $100 a year increase in property tax's.
This small town just dont have that big of a problem,to warrent such a expence, when there are ALOT of other things we need worse an can aford.
So yes please sue an get my ip addy..and when you find out im not attacking "THE FAMILY" here..Maybe ill counter sue.
"STICK TO THE TOPIC" an dont make this something its NOT!!!!!!!!
Thank You

PS...Come to think of it...do tell what he was charged with an why???? Fill me in here??? Maybe there is even MORE Reason he should stay in Nashville????

I do agree with you on the out of town animal control man and the problem the city has with cats. I was only defending this family and the so called rumors that has been around for a couple of years now. As far as telling more info on them, what's to tell? They are good people with bad neighbors, always up in everyones business. Mr. Phenis raised rabbits at one time, decided he would kill and eat one for supper one night I guess and lord and behold was falsely arrested for supposedly killing a neigbors cat. I didn't realize that a rabbit hanging by its feet would look like a cat? Anything else friend?
