Let's get this introduced in Congress. Congressional Reform Act of 2009 1. Term Limits: 12 years only, one of the possible options below. A. Two Six-year Senate terms B. Six Two-year House terms C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms 2. No Tenure / No Pension: A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office. 3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security: All funds in the Congressional retirement fund moves to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, Congress participates with the American people. 4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan just as all Americans.. 5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 7. Congress must equally abide in all laws they impose on the American people. 8. All contracts with past and present congressmen are void effective 1/1/10. The American people did not make this contract with congressmen, congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work." Good work, I would reword #6 however, to read: 6. All members of Congress, House and Senent, thier dependent families, thier staff, all elected and appointed officials in the Execuatative and Judicerary branches of Government, will be required to participate in the Public Option health insurance. I wonder how Ginsburgs cancer treatments will go from that.

I think the percentage is more like 2% of the people in the USA own all the wealth and power. I'm with you. I think we all realize that money talks and the rest of us are just left wanting to. You know that we will never get the backing of the money. I don't know about you, but I surely don't have 1.5M/day to fight against the people who are fighting against HCR. That said, "I personally don't have the money". How many people live in the USA that really need this reform or want it? That's where the money is. Our current leader took serious advantage of the fact that people were hungry for change and hope. Our people gladly gave money in hopes of change. Our only chance is to get all these words in front of the people. How many people do you know? How many people does Keri know? How many people do they know? One thing we do have is the internet. This is a very powerful tool for the masses who don't have all the money. People will put money into things that they believe in or that give them hope. The key is to take that money and do something positive with it and not simply give hope. Hope is the last one to die. Thx. Boot - My apologize if it seemed I was getting wound up. I was simply trying to get a point across. Boot, no need to apologize here, we all get wound up at times. We are on opposite sides of HCR, but at least we both can agree that our political system could use some much needed and serious reforms. There is someone named TSQ he/she started a thread back in April 16. TSQ posted a rather voluminous piece of work titled "How to facilitate third parties in CA and the U.S" It might prove to be of some interest to you and your budding movement. You can find it by doing a search of the title in TOPIX.

I love America. I don't love or hate Obama. Still not sure what to make of this guy. He's a good speaker (tele-prompter or not), I have to give him credit for this.
1 yr into his presidency, I still haven't seen much in terms of change to the status quo. Still seeing the same BS politics that got us into the mess we are in now.
Is it possible that he simply doesn't see the BS that we are seeing?
I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt for another 3-4 months.
I personally am not very impressed or content with public servants of the current day.

Well, I wish he were alot more bi-partisan and transparent like he promised while campaigning, or anything he promised for that matter. All those lies may have gotten him elected but, he can't fool great Americans.

My friends, today's lesson in how to argue with a liberal is called reductio ad absurdum which is latin for reduce to absurdity. Take the most extreme, the stupidest example from the stupidest of people. Post it--again and again--as an example of "Their side." Here is a classic example (you may cut and paste it to other fora*) Plant Lady wrote: <quoted text> yeH..but what do we do about the ones that aren't so bright? ROGULSKI: Why are you here? There seem to be a lot of examples of stupid people who voted for Obama. Why can't we judge Obama by those people since he must have something in common with them to get their support?

But then we would have to judge good conservative politicians by some of the crazies that support them. Face it Mac, many people voted for him because McCain made some serious mistakes in his campaign. Obama was the better choice between the two. Will he be better in the end? Time will tell. But I won't judge him this early.

The left does that all the time. They use every wayward Republican as a stone to hurl at the Republican Party. But in fact Obama lives in a glass house too.

And so far he's done nothing to help the economy or the growing unemployment rate. Plus his two hottest ideas - ObamaCare and the Cap and Trade energy tax - are going to hurt the economy even more and export more jobs to China. We can't wait until Obama drives the nation off a cliff to take the car keys away from him.

They have something in common with those homosexual priests. They must approve of the homosexual lifestyle because they keep going to church.

Most liberals do discount Catholics when the Church does not support abortion or homosexual marriage. But we were talking about profoundly stupid Obama voters, not informed voters who simply see some issues differently than other people do.

Why didn't you fools take the keyes away from Bush and Cheney, alias,(dick) head, and stop them from driving the U.S. off the cliff and into the cesspool and morass that they drove us to, and that the current administration is trying to fix? Oh the hypocrisy, from you mindless fools! They bankrupted the country and raided the treasury before they left office to pay back their crony Wall Street goons and Bankers! Just research Hank Paulson and you'll see how they succeeded in picking your pockets, pendejos!

Every News show has it's lean Left or Right but I don't care. Start worrying about the truth and stop worrying about your stupid political parties. Just beacuse you hear it on whatever news show you watch does it make it truthful or is there always more to the story? We only have one America and if you can't see that and our country is turning to crap because of ignorance we are going to in a world of hurt. If FOX hurts so bad than ask yourself why. Maybe cause the truth does hurt. But let me know what the truth is when you find it. Because I always believe seeing is believing not second and third hand info.
