When this happened several years ago I was PHYSICALLY sickened by this and by the POOr, elderly, disabled, pets and people of NO were all abandoned and left to die.
Clearly, this disaster was used as a "black op, or psych op" of things to come. Katrina set the stage for a lot of changes including how cities and states deal with disasters, and how insurance companies no longer have to cover ANY loss you suffer. Everything in our lives changed for the worse those days. Want to know how your town has changed? Call them and ask for information on their "disaster" plan under a emergency situations. When you find out, and trust me you will be shocked and appauled, then you will see why they let NO happen and why it was a trial run for things to come. In our large metropolis, people over 60 will not be allowed medical care or assistance AT ALL. Whether you receive any help is determined by your age and economic status (including what part of town you live in). None of those residents in the nursing home in NO who died, would be allowed rescue or treatment at all. The people who did this to them will walk because of the city's disaster plan. My mother will be left to die because of her age, and I might be too since I'm disabled and poor. I wouldn't be surprised if the government staged many such disasters to rid the country of the poor, disabled and elderly. Think about it! Republicans call us "useless eaters." |
