Good job, Mr. Gage! Armed citizens like you do more to prevent crime than any other means out there, aside from a good upbringing to start with!

Thank you sir for having a spine. It is a shame there aren't more people like you in this world. If there was, we wouldn't have half the problems we do now.

I would love to know wehre this was at, is it a secret? Anyway I am glad he had time to wake up a little bit before steadying that gun but was hoping more for an outcome of shooting someone at least in the hand or leg or something so they could be caught when they went for medical treatment. It won't scare them away, they will definately be at it again, more agressive next time maybe? Good job Mr. Gage, glad your safe.

I am just amazed that so many people say good job to this guy (and yes I think he did a good job) but on the forum where a cop defended himself and shot someone everyone questions the validity of whether his life was actually in danger. Why the double standard? And by the way good freaking job Mr. Gage!!!

And that's why a shotgun would be ideal. When that guy came through the door Mr. Gage could of said something clever like "Say Hello to my little Friend" and then BOOM and the crook would have some definite "Battle damage!"

LOL.

I listened to this on the police scanner as it went down. This happened about 1 block north of E. 31st Street and about halfway between Garnett & 129 E Ave. Bad guys fled on foot into the retention pond area. TPD said since it was raining so hard a dog could not track thru the rain filled creek, etc.

Other question is... He shot THRU the door. TPD never did find his bullett. Where did it end up at ?

Did the homeowner give a description of the home invaders,,,,OR would that be racial profiling?

One line comes to mind. It goes like this, "You won't lay a hand on me, you won't insult me and you won't take what is mine. You won't do these things to me, my family or my friends. If you do I will kill you". It is really kinda simple.

If someone kicks your door in - they are not your friends. They did'nt visit just to see what they could do for you. Mr Gage, you did the right thing.
If you said, "time out" or "please wait while I dial 911", you could very well be dead right now.

It's bad enough we are laying off law enforcement people. This did'nt need to happen. I've never been in a city where they had an "operation slick streets" either. However, all the police we could ever hope for can't make up for citizen action and responsibility.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Aries

Today looks particularly good for improving your earning capacity or working conditions. Events that develop around them could help to improve your self-esteem. You need to be wary of a friend's motivation because things aren't as simple as they seem. This is an excellent day to send out your resume and change work practices; get to know your colleagues better and basically have some fun with them.
