The city will face tremendus law suits, as a result of this judges actions. All of the felons released from prision will immediately file, as will the former officers. So what goes around comes around.

You really don't understand why the Chief has done this. They have to talk to investigators and cannot talk outside the department which includes media and they can't warn informants or others who they know are involved. It's not closing the ranks as you imply but closing the gate to keep the horses in. The last thing this Chief will do is protect those that are involved. He's getting ready to really clean this department up and good for him.

So you say. I support the existence of the Police Dept Union. What I don't support is the cover ups that goes on in every Police Department. I'll believe this is a cleaning up the dept when I see it.

It's sort of a "no-snitch" memo...

Exactly. This is Oklahoma. Thanks for reminding us why we can expect corruption here. All you have to do is looks for Flag waving and Bible thumping. Be corruption right there every time.

An initial reading of the order appears to prohibit the talking to any investigator for any defense attorney or persons involved in the investigations for the suspects. But allows the discussion with the prosecution.

I absolutely agree! Example: Have a man stand in the back of a pickup holding two towels. The man makes the statement "One is white and one is black" Immediately after the media gets hold of it, the man is a bigot and racist. THE WHITE TOWEL IS 1/2" LARGER THAN THE BLACK TOWEL. Really big story. In reality, the man was only trying to sell towels! A bigoted and racist white/black man holding up a black and white towel is a big story and will sell papers. A Black or white person holding up a white towel and a black towel for sale is NO story at all. Media--- report the complete truth or don't report anything at all!!!

What it means is, every effort will be made to prosecute the former officers, even though the case against them is very weak. You can trash them but, proving that in court is another thing. These judges almost always set more felons free than they ever prosecute. This is a turn the other cheek syndrome, which causes more drugs to flow and crime to increase.

Circle the wagons and increase secrecy.
This is police business, no one else needs to know.
After all, they're cops, we can trust them.

As an ex-officer I can tell you that this memo implies that someone inside has already leaked prosecution info to a defense attorney to try and help out a "buddie"
I agree with the chief and no special favors , interviews, or material should be given or transfered to those officers that wouldn't be allowed to nay other person accused of a crime.
