Just a curious question... When these fundraisers and online donation generates thousands of dollars, what happens to the money when the owners decide not to rebuild?

I can't see this thing getting rebuilt if the cost will be 300,000 or more...

Will the money be donated to a local charity?

My family of six kids Gloria, Ricky, Peggy, Cindy, David and Michelle grew up on 78th st East side of the screen....we used to sit in our backyard with family and friends and watch the movies back in the 60's....it is a great memory for us.

Wow...no one forced your finger to push the little clicky button on your mouse to read this story. You know, the internet is full of stories that you may find news-worthy. It's kinda hard to believe that this story is the only thing that you have found to read. Perhaps you should take a class on browsing the internet for news-worthy stories.

To me the Admiral Twin represents the last great tradition of cinematic history. No one else does Double Features anymore. Also, a drive-in isn't only about the movies that are showing, it is an experience as a whole. It is my belief that future generations will be robbed of something amazing if this theater isn't rebuilt.

I agree - going to a drive-in is an experience, an outing! Use to seem the "worse" the movie the better the time. Really though the good old Horror or Western or Race Car movie where the best. The quality of the sound or picture played a minor part in the enjoyment of the adventure!!

We moved 5 blocks north of the Admiral Twin 10 years ago, go at least once a summer. Sure hope they can rebuild, and already donated a little towards the cause.
If every Tulsan donates just a buck, we can have our
drive in back.

Well lets see, there are now 3 count them 1-2-3 (if you can count that high) stories on Kotv's site about this. We can get all we need to know from the first story. Here's an idea, why doesn't the city use that land as a new parking lot or possibly an inner city land fill, they can start with the debris left behind from the drive-in!

I agree it has a lot of sentiment but will anyone go there if it was reopened? I have seen it lots of times from 244 but have never seen it in use. Not sure how much money it would cost to rebuild or how much it would cost to maintain.
Am I missing something? Was the Drive through open before the fire?
