Those who don't get laid off, but wind up part time will have thier medical costs doubled. Imagine that trying to cope with not only having your hours cut, but maintaining medical coverage will make life even harder. Being able to step off this train wreck would be a blessing

I am afraid you are right on track. This AMR bankruptcy derailment is sure becoming one HELL of a train wreck. I am just not seeing AMR coming out ahead on this, and US Airways being weakend for years, to the point it's survival may be at stake in a shotgun merger wedding.

If USAir takes over AA,
thousands of AA'ers will be gone forever.

Would you care to explain your theory? Quick lesson. We all know about the pilot dispute at US. It was solved but US pilots were unhappy. They decertified thier union, formed thier own and sued. AA bought TW and a mediator came up with a very bizzare formula for seniority. Since then a federal law was passed that basically blends seniority lists. The law was drawn up but languished until the DL/NW and UA/CO rumors became reality then congress moved. A new merger would elimate the grandfather problem with US pilots. I will be laid of by AA soon. If there were a US/AA merger, I would have a job. No doubt there will be job loss. It is the by product of any merger. To assume AA would take the brunt is false.

Personally, if the AA crews are stabled at the bottome of US Airways group, would be totally fitting.

However thanks to new laws sponsored by a Missouri Congresswoman, it won't be that easy for employees to be soooo mistreated again.

AMR CORPORATION and the shareholders deserve the pain AMR is going through now WHEN THESE IN CONTROL OF THE AIRLINE DID NOTHING during the abuse of TWA.

If TWA had been handled respectfully and with good will, I bet US travellers would have been flocking to AA.

No one outside of an ex TWA employee, family of, or possibly neighbor care about what happened to TWA... The same applies to AA.. All anyone cares about is who can fly me there cheap. As far as cuts, they are on going. I gave the company 20% in 2003 to prevent a BK. The raises which stopped 5 years ago never did keep pace with inflation. In fact the company has raised my medical contribution every year. All I do is cut each year. I work for an airline, you know fly free blah blah blah. One the planes are full, and 2 I would have no money to do anything once I got where I was going anyway. Just glad I live in SAN.. No need to leave really

You are wrong on TWA PROST but hit some of the nail points on the head.

NO one at AMR cared about TWA, that is one reason why no one really cares about what happens to AMR.

AMR's Execs did not care about TWA
AMR's Employees and Unions did not care about TWA
AMR's S h ar e h o l d e r s and I n v e s t o r s did not care about what the Execs and Employees Union were doing to TWA.

Therefore NOW I laugh at all those who lost money NOT caring about the fate of those at involved at AMR who were parties to the slaughter of TWA much like the terrorists slaughtered AMR's people.

I N V E S T O R S and creditors who have lost on AMR I am laughing, laughing, laughing. Care for your employees and they will care for you. Investors turned a blind eye upon the treatment of TWA's people at AMR, and now they have lost billions on AMR.

Why does AA Pilots love getting Facked up the Ass? They dont even apply vaseline in their hole before voting on a Mickie Mouse contract. These pilots think they got to go to the moon and mars because they think they deserve it. I dont agree with Chapter 1113 ruling, i believe the Flea Market ruling.

AA love USAIR.

AAUSAIR i love that name.

and staple them to the bottom!
