"They say he was clinging to the truck's drive shaft, lifting himself off the ground."

Unfortunate... and unfortunately this happens all to often in Oklahoma. I remember one meth lab explosion in Ada a few years back that ended up with I think 4 deaths associated with it.

Horrible addiction.

I hate to see anyone die and I feel for the familys loss, however, if one is to mess with dangerous chemicals like this then you can expect a death to happen sooner or later. At least one meth maker is gone and two children are in a safer place, I hope.

For everyone out there putting any type of hate towards this man,*not this site-others* remember this is more than a "dope cook" This was a son, brother, nephew, boyfriend, and friend. MY FRIEND~
Mike -BIRD_ is going to be missed greatly and our hearts ache because his no longer beats. Meth however is an addiction only the addict will fully understand; Its a love\hate relationship for an entire life.

Well I hope they take the children away from that woman. and find a good home for them! she needs to spend a few years in jail for putting those kids in that kind of danger! and the guy that died did it for a stupid drug of HIS choice! not the kids!!

Um I think he made the choice to start using meth all by himself, and you can't say it wasn't a choice because it was.

At some point in his life he was given the oportunity to try it or walk away, he chose to try it and now he is dead because if it.

That is the CHOICE he made! Now his so called friends and famliy have to deal with the aftermath.

This is life! MOVE ON!

If you knew Mike without the drugs, you would understand, he was a great person with a big heart that would do anything for a friend..
My wish is that everybody that reads this realizes meth is a addiction, a sickness.. the first time maybe even the second is a choice (a bad choice) but then it just pulls you in and destroys you and all you have.
It changes the person you are. I ask mike why once and he said "it just takes over your every thought. The choices you would normally make don't make it through the rest of the racing thoughts., I want to quit I really do" and I know he tried..
my heart goes out to his family and friend's.
My wish is that our community would reach out instead of judge. We are suppose to be a christian community, yet we push away and judge. You would be surprised at who all has this sickness.I am willing to bet everyone has at least one family member addicted. Rather they know it or not. Meth is a very serious problem.and it saddens my heart to have lost yet another person to this addiction
IT IS VERY SAD THAT MIKE HAS LOST HIS FIGHT.. AND HE WILL BE MISSED!! "

I can't believe all the people who jump on people like myself who call it like it is when people like this man die or kill others for doing stupid, criminal things. Oh we are supposed to pity this guy who could have lived next to any of us and killed any of our children or could have been doing a home invasion to support his habit instead of blowing himself up. You ignorant people. Pity for him is too late but there's a chance we could use his choices and his consequences to stop future generations of fools. Of course with our liberal education system failing students left and right and with political correctness more are doomed to die. Mike died a fool and in vain because of stupid choices he made. People who enabled him are worse than he was. With friends like those Mike most certainly didn't need any enemies. The worst an enemy could do was killed him and he did that for himself quite effectively. RIP Mike, I'm glad you can't be near my family.

its a global problem
==========
.... get as many historically disadvantaged students into the system as possible.

That means, at least, increasing the numbers in our universities to about one million in the next few years. The only way to achieve this is to let more underprepared students into the system. That means an increase in the drop-out rate and, as a result, wasted NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme) funding. This will create more unemployed out-of-school youths who are in greater debt and with little ability to pay it off because they can't find jobs. And that's because they have no qualification. You get the picture?

For those of you people that have never been in a situation like this let me just tell you that Mike was offered help numerous time by all of his family and as a grown man HE MADE THE CHOICE NOT TO GET THE HELP HE NEEDED!!!!! Please remember that even tho is has payed the ultimate price for his crimes that he still has a mother, brother, son , and numerous other family members mourning his loss. Many people have someone in their family somewhere that either has or has had the same problems for those that chose to accept the help offered and got clean I say good for you. But for those that chose to continue this type of lifestyle please learn from Michael's Mistakes get help if not for you but for your family because they are the one's left cleaning up the mess and dealing with people making judgement's on them for not saving you when you had the chance!!!!! For those of you that continue to JUDGE his family shame on you - were you there at the funeral watching a mother bury her son, she may not have liked what he did but he was still her baby!!! NOONE HAS A RIGHT TO JUDGE!!! As for the children yes I agree they are innocent and shouldnt have been there but this is a problem all across our country and the only reason everyone is all in a uproar about this is because it was on TV. What about all the other children that are in this situation everyday think about them as well!!!!

who Say's we enabled mike.. how would you know..some of us did not. and as for calling people ignorant. If it was being cooked next to you I would hope you would be smart enough to call it in..
this crap has a smell that cant be covered (MAY I SUGGEST YOU DO SOME RESEARCH). I only wish the people that lived in the apartment building would have made that call. but instead they all buried their heads in the sand or put in orders. If the people that were really responsible would quite hiding then maybe the truth could come out.. If you did not know Mike or the circumstances leading to this to happen then please quit judging. If yo did know then please own up to this so at least mike can rest in peace.. MIKE YOU WILL BE MISSED.. TRY TO REST MY FRIEND .. AND THANKS FOR TRYING TO DESTROY THE LAB.

bville friend- please enlighten us ignorant folks then! mike was trying to DESTROY the lab? whose lab was it? r u saying it was the mother's lab? or was she an "innocent victim" in all of this too? i'll tell u who the innocent victims are- those two young children whose entire lives have been ruined. if u have details about this incident, even if it could incriminate YOU, i hope u'll do the right thing and go forward....in honor of ur lost friend.
