Some people just snap for no reason whatsoever. No telling what set the man off to kill two people. This guy maybe wasn't a very good drunk, the type that would go off when he thought his intelligence was insulted or something. He may not have been on meth at all, just a guy that can't hold his liquor. Unfortunately, holidays like this seems to be an excuse for people to drink. It's not a day off, it's an excuse to party.

These two gentlemen probably said something that set this guy off and he snapped. Shot one and set the other on fire. People do stupid things when under the influence.

I'm wondering, was the other man burned alive?

to all those who losed thier loved ones we are very sorry and our thoughts and prays go out to you. Nobody should ever have to go through something like this. I know lots do not even know who this guy is. He is our nephew and know him as a wonderful guy who would do anything for you . Our children know him as the cousin that always went fishing and all our family outing and none of them turned bad. He is not a methed out freak. We would really like to know what happened in that house that night that caused what ever happened. We love him dearly and will miss him being in our lives as well. We cannot pass jugdement on either side till we know what happened in that house, if we will ever know. Our thoughts and prays go out to everyone involved. I hope this does not offened anybody.

This situation is tragic for both families involved. YOu don't stop loving a family member because they made a bad choice in life. In this case, everyone loses. My condolences.

My name is Tori Reeder and I am the daughter of Michael Reeder. I want you all to understand my father was neither an alcoholic nor a drug user. Labor Day weekend is a weekend full of fun, drinks, and good weather, this was all of that for my dad. There has been no confirmation that Travis Danley was on meth, people are passing judgement solely on his appearence and we can not do that. My dad did not know Travis well therefore he had no idea what this man was like or capable of. No one knows what happened that night all we know is my dad and his good friend are dead as the result of an act of violence. Please stop the speculations, the incinuations that my fathers house was a meth head hang-out, and quit trying to figure out what happened. My father was killed in his sleep suddenly, never saw it coming never felt it, this is something I can thank God for. He was not burned alive, his house was damaged and I hope that I can salvage something from this horrible tragedy. To clear up other things, the woman on the news was not my fathers girlfriend, they have been exes for quite awhile now so please do not refer to her as such. His family is truly destraght and feeling not only for my father, but his friend and his four daughters that will never get to know their dad and also for Travis's family. We can not judge, we will not know, all we can do is wait and pray that these two wonderful men are in a better place and Travis may find salvation for what he has done.

God Bless all who are concerned, my dad was really wonderful man who loved his family more than everything!

I have nothing but sympathy for your situation. This is a tragedy of the most horrific proportions, and I can't even imagine the pain your family is going through. All the same, were I in your position, I would want the man responsible to burn. I applaud your forgiveness and empathy. However, if the man responsible gets the death sentence he deserves, I will not be bothered in the least. Matter of fact, it'll be all I can do not to cheer that this dangerous stain of a human being has been wiped from the face of the earth forever.

God bless you and your family, and have mercy upon the man responsible - because I sure as hell wouldn't.

Sir I understand you are upset but an eye for an eye is not the answer. I do not wish death upon this man or the hurt that comes with it on his family. Instead I ask you to pray for my father and his friend and pray for Travis Danley, he will need our prayers when he comes to realize he has destroyed so many people, including himself.

To all of those that think they know what happened. I want to clear a few things up. First off the man that killed to two very loved men in our lives was not a friend. He was merely an aquiantance. You are only getting one side of the story and that is from the man that went of the deep end and took two mens lives from our family. It is time that you heard our side of what happened. Friends will stick together thru thick and thin. Once you let a stranger in your life when you truely don't know them this could happen to anyone. This is a tragic time for the family and friends and even thought drinking was involved that is NOT the reason, it's because we let a stranger in our lives. We try and be open and acceptive of people, but this is what we get.

What do I say? I'm all the way in Cali and I just heard the awful news. The man who was shot in the head was a long time friend and extended family member of mine. We were close friends in high school and beyond when he married into the family.
I am crushed beyond belief, that anyone can be that heartless, drunk , high or not!
My thanks go out to the mom of this creep, for helping him realize that he needed to go to the PD.
My prayers go up to God for all who are effected by this horrible nightmare.
My condolences to the the families and friends of those that have now past on. May God show you his Love and overwhelm you with the Peace that surpasses all understanding!

Michael was a wonderful person. I can't believe I am speaking about him in the past tense. He had a very big, sensitive heart. He would take in anyone that he could. Yet he was a safe man. He loved to hunt and fish. It was his passion. But, he would not let his daughter play paint ball. Because it would be hunting people, and that is something he felt was senseless. Just like this situation. He loved his family. And like anyone of us, he has made mistakes. He has left a legacy of his own. His daughter is an angel and he has been proud of her since the first time he laid eyes on her. He has a strong brother who is alot like him. A sister that is the sweetest young lady. Parents that love and support him with all there heart. Nephews and nieces that have learned so much from him. Freinds that live across the 50 states. And me a person who even though I have seen the best and the worst in him will always love him. like the song says "like a tatoo" on my heart" Remember the memories. You are a part of him.

I've noticed that a couple people think that this was a drug deal gone bad. This was not the case at all. I've known both of these men a long time. Dave lived with my uncle Jay, and Mike's brother Mark, was married to my brother in law's sister Sabrina. They were two of the most laid back guys you could ever meet. Other than a little smoke every once in a while, Dave, nor Mike ever did any drugs. Travis did on the other hand. I can't say for sure, but I would guess that Travis was under the influence of something more than alcohol. I've watched my cousin's, Travis's cousins, struggle with meth in the past. They have finally overcome this evil drug. One of the effects that meth has on most people is paranoia. It also tends to make the person more irritable and they lose their temper much faster than normal, often over the smallest things. An arguement was the cause of this. Mike was joking around with Travis, giving him a hard time. And Travis took it seriously. He went in and got Dave's shotgun, and came back to Mike, and Mike thought he was kidding. Travis told Mike to say it again, and when he did, Travis shot him. Dave came running down the hall asking what Travis had done and Travis shot him too.

There was no drug deal involved. It was just a couple buddies partying on a holiday weekend. And due to unknown factors, one of them lost it. Only God knows why this happened. And don't blame God for this. Blame Satan. Meth is Satan's drug. The bible tells us that God will test us, but he will never give us more than we can handle. Remember Mike and Dave for the great men they were. And try not to mourn for them, but instead celebrate their lives, and the impact they had on all of us.
