Hey, I was blessed to have inherited my parent's farm and enrolled it into a 25 year agricultural use only program.
My family has been hunting and fishing the same swamp since they moved to Texas over 100 years ago. Now the Corps of Engineers owns it. We talked them in to leaving it a primative site.I have hunted there my whole life, and my 6 year old son has been there every October 1st for squirrel camp. It is a tradition and family reunion I don't want him to miss.

I used to take a 2 week vacation there every year. I'm heading out there next Thursday.

Not really. You made no point. Why don't you pay the tax for us. You seem eager.

If you see the Corps, ask them to come fix this little loss of land I have from one of their projects run amuck. Two acres of high, tillable land turned into a swamp with an entire eco-system living in it because of their unintentional run off.

I won't be trapping any beaver this year. Probably will spend my time fishing with my son and trapping wild hog.

There is no power out there. It is very remote. The Milky Way is beautiful from there and sunrise is amazing. I love it there.

CBS Doesn't Air Obama Admitting Mistakes in Campaign Ads
10:39 PM, Sep 23, 2012 • By DANIEL HALPER

Tonight, CBS aired a 60 Minutes interview with President Obama. But curiously enough, the news magazine show did not air a clip of Obama admitting to interviewer Steve Kroft that some of his campaign ads contain mistakes and that some even "go overboard."

CBS describes the clip this way: "President Obama says some of his campaign ads might 'go overboard' or contain mistakes, but most of them simply highlight the differences between him and Gov. Romney."

"Look, the fact-checkers have had problems with the ads on both sides," Kroft says to Obama in the unaired clip, "and say they've been misleading and in some cases just not true. Does that disturb you? I mean, some of them are your ads."

Obama responds: "Do we see sometimes us going overboard in our campaign, are there mistakes that are made, areas where there is no doubt somebody could dispute how we are presenting things? You know, that happens in politics."

Kroft responds: "Aren't the American entitled to the truth? Or a better version of it?"

OBAMA: THEN WE WOULDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY..........

Silver, you're leaving tomorrow, right? Enjoy the time with your son and stay in touch.

Why don't people understand that Obama has NO PLAN.

Romney laid his out in his 8/30 nomination acceptance speech.

Yes. I'm leaving tomorrow after work.

Many people don't care enough to look into anything. Others believe what they believe when you show the black and white.

People like Micheal Allred, WarForOil, Rational Tulsans, and DustyOutlaw donlt care about the facts. They just come here to insult people.

So that's what we are dealing with.

Thank you for the well wishes.

Romney's plan is to stand there, do nothing, and not really even care if the problem takes care of itself?

Not really much of a plan at all, but it's better than Paul Ryan's plan so at least it has that much going for it...

michael nobody cares what you think. You are ultra one sided so your opinion doesn't carry much weight. We already know what you are going to say before you say it. You aren't capable of thinking for yourself.

We’ve been hearing endless yammering about two seemingly unrelated things: that 47 percent of U.S. households don’t pay income tax, and that Mitt Romney paid a lower effective tax rate on his $13.7 million of 2011 income than most American workers pay for just Social Security and Medicare.

But you know what? Romney and the 47 percent are joined at the hip, as well as at the checkbook. How so? They’re both taking what the tax code gives them, and the result isn’t pretty.

Ironically, the reason so many U.S. households don’t pay income tax is attributable largely to policies pushed by two presidents beloved by low-tax types: Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. Reagan expanded the earned-income tax credit, and Bush doubled the child-care credit. Romney either didn’t know this when he made his denigrating remarks about “the 47 percent” or else chose not to mention it. Putting things in perspective doesn’t make for good applause lines.

Now, to Romney’s taxes. He has the cluelessness — or maybe it’s gall — to boast about not deducting some of his charitable contributions, in order to boost his effective tax rate to 14 percent. Give me a break. People earning less than $110,100 pay an effective rate of 15.3 percent in just Social Security and Medicare tax on every penny of salary they make (including the employer’s portion, which analysts say comes out of workers’ pockets.) Plus in many cases, they pay income tax, too. So forgive me for not being impressed by Romney’s 14 percent effective rate. The fact that he could have paid only 10 percent, perfectly legally, is pretty appalling.

But we need some honesty and consistency in this discussion. If you’re fine with the 47 percent taking full advantage of current tax law, you lose your standing to rag on Romney for doing the same thing. If you say that it’s perfectly fine for Romney and other supposed job creators to pay less than average workers pay just for Social Security and Medicare, you don’t have standing to complain about the 47 percent.

The real problem here, I think, is that by using the tax code to advance social policy rather than to merely collect revenue, we’ve lost sight of the idea that all of us Americans are supposed to be engaged in a joint enterprise.

During this "tax refor" they will also find the rifle of Oswald's accomplice, Romney's real tax returns, Obama's real birth certificate, Amelia Earhart's plane, the plans for Germany's 1944 atomic bomb, the lost Flight 19, the original copy of the Nixon tapes, Hoover's FBI order to assassinate Martin Luther King, Jr., and the long lost original version of Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men. And maybe, if we're lucky, a copy of the Star Wars Christmas Special.

When Romney is ahead in any poll, republicans say "those are the facts". When Obama is up in the polls, they say "polls don't matter."
