AntiA...don't you have better things to say then to respond to Allred.

Read about the new series today "The Obama you don't Know"? Washington Examiner is posting it in chapters. Look it up and read it. Pretty interesting. Like I've always said, he never lived 'middle class' and was always a child of priviledge. As a law professor, when it's reported he was a 'rock star', they had trouble filling his classes. And more....

Romney's bold, and his accomplishments are hard earned, but he's got to get tough with the libs. Then again, I don't put too much into the polls.

Step on Allred for me if you see him.:-)(Lord, forgive me. Amen.)

I just went to monkey boy's(MAS = Micheal Allred Sucks) profile. This is his blog.http://occupywriters.com/

That says it all.

No wonder he is so hateful and delusional. America doesn't know what Occupy is about and doesn't care. He is mad about that.

Yes, he really had to struggle to make it as the kid of a millionaire. There were many years when his unemployment forced him to sell off the endless stream of stock his father gave him. I mean, it kind of makes me cry just to think of how he had to scrabble from the bottom rungs of the extremely wealthy all the way up to the obscenely wealthy.

Whatever, he's not worth your time or mine.

So, all this fuss about the 47% who don't pay any income tax.

What about the percentage that we don't know about that have PLUS tax rates? No one reports this handy little fact.

Did a pro bono return for a single mom with one child. I was shocked!

She made $10,000. and had FWT of $1,000. She got a Earned Income Credit (EIC) of $3,000. and a Additional Child Credit of $1,000. Got a check from the federal return of $5,104. so a $4,000. PROFIT.

Her effective tax rate is 39.12% PLUS. Let me say that again. PLUS PLUS PLUS.

On her state return, she had $551. withheld, got a check from the state for $1335.00. a $774. PROFIT there.

$4,774.00 PROFIT

Same woman also receives food stamps, energy assistance, housing assistance, day care assistance and medical coverage for herself and her daughter.

She had lovely tattoos and piercings.

Multiply that by the millions of single mom's and even couples making low incomes and getting the EIC credit and all of the other goodies.

And Obama takes work out of welfare and cut our military budget?

Silver, how we do get these facts out to the public?

This all has to collapse horribly in the near future.

Well, the first thing would be to actually have facts.

The ghost chair stuff you have now is cute and all but it doesn't actually matter to anyone here in the real world...

I post and re-post well written, concise pieces on other forums. It is surprising how many people don't care about what is going on in Washington.

That's ridiculous.
It is called a "USE TAX". I believe most states have them. When you purchase something out of state and it comes with you or is sent to you in your home state you must pay the use tax. As an example, if you purchase a shirt in California and you pay sales tax on it there, when you come back to Oklahoma and do that year's taxes, you declare it on your taxes and if the CA tax is less than the OK tax on the purchase, you owe OK the difference. Purchase over the internet? Being sent to you from out of state? That's right, you owe an amount equal to the sales tax to the state of Oklahoma. Some companies such as Williams-Sonoma know this and will collect your Oklahoma sales tax on purchases from them for the online or phone sales. Other companies don't, and if they don't it is your responsibility to fess up on your tax return. So the same thing applies if you buy a tractor out of state and bring it back to Oklahoma to use. Many, many states have had these laws for 50-70 years or more.

The Patriot Act, Homeland Security Act, and other laws allow your tracking, your home to be searched without warrant, your detention at will, forfeit of your possessions at will by the government.
We are not free in the slightest sense of the word. We have just grown accustomed to our bondage.
The money from you hunting and fishing licenses go directly to fund the dept of wildlife conservation. At least in those cases you know who got your money and they do a good job on that here in Oklahoma. Not all states tax food from the grocery store. And in every state, if you are using foodstamps those purchases are not taxed.

This is true but, I agree with FU that it is ridiculous.
I would prefer a value added tax or an income flat tax to cure some of these complex or obscure tax codes.

Uh, I think you have a mis-statement. She has a 0% tax rate. She pays no ($0) Federal and State income tax. She nets a profit and the % you are stating might be the % of increase she enjoys from this situation. She IS part of that 47%. And if asked, she will say that she pays taxes. She knows she does, it is pulled out of her paycheck. The sad reality is she cannot understand that when she gets it all back and then some, she is receiving and not paying. Don't you just love seeing that when you prepare taxes for someone? But let them make a little too much money or let them take the Advance EIC and the next year on their taxes, they are squalling like a baby. Or else really, really mad & it will be all your fault. Been there, done that.

You're probably right. I'm from Texas. We have incredible hunting lands and conservation programs. It is cheaper to hunt there than it is to hunt here. A $75 super combo license allows you to harvest 6 deer plus everything else but duck. It also includes a full fishing license.

It's $20 a deer here and you have to buy a antlerless or buck tag. Very expensive and I don't know where the state hunting lands are.

We have zero sales tax in my state, other than federal taxes imposed on gas.

I had no idea that WIK, food stamps or whatever it is, are not subject to state tax where it exists.

15 minutes from here, in a neighboring state with 6% sales tax. There is a take out store that sells nothing but high end seafood. The food stamp witches go in and get a 1/2 bushel of steamed crabs for $80. using their WIK card. Then they drive two miles away and sell them for $50. cash and take that and buy their drugs, pills jewelry...whatever.

Now would it create a job or ten for state to hire a few people to investigate where food assistance is accepted and maybe save a little money on fraud?

You're right, they don't see it as 'making a profit' at all. Just happy for January to roll around so they can get their 'tax check' and have no interest at all at how the figure is arrived at.

I still consider it a PLUS tax rate. I always will.

But I'll never see her again. Sometime this year someone wil tell her that if she goes and pays $90. for H&R Block to do her return, for another $30. she can get an immediate refund at their office with no money up front. With all that cash rolling in from Uncle Sam, it's not worth waiting two weeks for direct deposit.

Gotta have that day glo velvet couch tonight!

I have land I don't allow anyone to hunt. My older uncles and cousins used to, but they have all died.
I can get 'crop' tags so you can use them on anything at anytime. In fact the guy who plants my land would love for me to allow some deer to be shot.
I have deer, duck and geese, small game. Love that sound of the geese coming in.

Ground Hogs though, I shoot myself.

Too many amatuers out there. Caught two guys crossing my field to get to the pond once. I told them to come up my drive, stay along the hedgerow and not walk on the open field. Just this once.

When they got up by the house I went out and asked them what they were hunting. It was 2 PM in the afternoon. They told me 'duck.' They had no boat, no dog and it's mid afternoon. I know there's no blind on that pond.

So I said, well how to do you get the duck if you shoot any? Guy brings out a telescoping pole with a hook and says, "Oh we'll shoot some. They're just floating on top of the water."

Man, the men in my family got up at 3 AM, took the dog that never came in the house and drove to the marsh to get in the blind they had built, lined three shotguns each in front of the piano stool they had to sit on so they could pivot, with their duck calls around their necks and froze their butts off waiting for the ducks to fly in. They were back by 7 AM at the latest and went to work. The retired guys proceeded to pick the duck or geese.

And they never missed a day hunting.

So, Silver, if you get out to my area, I'll get you those crop tags.
