This is just awful! My thoughts and prayers are with the family of the bicyclist. To just drive on like human life is nothing, and not render aid in any way, is utterly montrous.

Yes I agree, it would be hard enough to live with myself if I ended someones life. That person must now live with himself/herself for that and also not even stopping to help. A double whammy to deal with for sure. My prayers definitely go out to the family of the victim.

This happened right in front of my job yesterday. I was the first person to the victim. It was an utterly horrid situation. I am glad that someone had the foresight to follow the driver and call police to his location so that he could be arrested. My prayers go out to the family of the victim.

I thank you on behalf of my family for your prayers. Lets hope the driver will have the full weight of the law descend on him and not get off with a light sentence.
My wifes best friend was killed 6 weeks ago by a driver on the cell phone, he was just charged this week with negligent homicide so be patient. I am sorry for your loss.

I just don't understand why people try to run after they have been in an accident. I could not live with myself if I didn't stop and render aid and call the police right away.
It's sad to say, but most of the time they run because they are driving under the influence or they have drugs/alcohol in their vehicle. In this case, the guy was intoxicated.

Why would anyone be riding a bicycle on Frank Phillips Blvd?

The driver was white, and drunk and the young man was not on Frank Phillips Blvd., he was in the parking lot of Wendy's. The driver jumped the curb, hit the guy, then kept going. He will hopefully spend a long long time in prison. This is what drunk driving does people!

Shaken, I'm so sorry you had to witness that. I drove by after the fact and can't shake what little I saw. I can't imagine being a witness to the accident.

Trekker, my prayers are with your family.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers. This was my brother only 21 years old. He was riding in the parking lot on his way to get our mother a present when William Burton livingston 32 was drunk and speeding at 100+ mph down Frank Phillips and hit my brother. I want to thank all of the witnesses that came forward and also followed this man to ensure that he was caught and punished. A crime like this is completely senseless and never should have happened. Our family will never be the same because someone decided to drink and drive. My brother touched many lives even of people he did not know and if it was not for the witnesses that came forward and the ones that followed this man home we never would know who he was or have him in jail. We thank you very deeply for coming forward even through such a horrible crime that this was if it was not for you we would have lost a great boy and not known who did it, but thanks to you all we do know who did it and have him locked up. Thank You

Because they like to exercise?
Because they don't have a car and needed to go somewhere?
Because gas costs too much?

All of these are reasons.

This is horrible. Thank goodness someone had the nerve to go after this guy. I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother, it's a pain nothing can fix, but gets easier to deal with over time.

I hope the driver gets his due.

And as far as riding a bike on Frank Phillips, what difference does it make? Have you seen the lot of bike riders here in Tulsa? I nearly hit three going down 21st on my way to the fair! They were riding down the INSIDE lane in all that traffic causing one heck of a backup!

This gentleman was in a parking lot, the driver hit him. The only one at fault is the drunk that chose to drink and drive, then run.

Such a sad set of circumstances! Not only has the driver killed someone's beloved family member, but he has also ruined his own life and caused tremendous heartache for his own famliy. It is so unfortunate that one person made such a poor decision as to drink and drive and the result having been a life taken. I live not too far from where it happened and talked with several people who were on the scene shortly before help arrived. What a terrible thing to have witnessed! Prayers to the family!

I would like to thank the lady who was at my sons side. I understand from what we have been told my son was dead at impact but you will never know how much it means to me to know my son was not alone. Thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers we are struggling right now for sure to deal with this. And thank you to each and everyone of you that followed this drunken man to his home where the police got him. He is facing from what we have been told 20 to life and he does have prior charges so we are praying he gets what he deserves. God bless you all. And again dear lady thank you for spending what time you did with my son. They would not even let us view him so you were the last to be with him and it makes my heart feel a little better to know you were there and he was not alone.....

What a dumb question. Like, umm, why was anyone walking on the ground? Because it gets you from one place to another, idiot.
