I resent your statement... about us being arm chair etc... I am not... I have an active full life... and I travel some... so don't assume... you will learn more by reading and listening... than reading these forums lol

Why in the world are you harrassing people in their time of grief?? If your life is so full, get on with it and leave these poor people alone to grieve. Maybe you should pray for your own soul tonight also. Don't forget to work on compassion skills. You could use it right now.

All of the comments that I am reading are absolutely horrible. First alcohol is suspected, not proven. 2nd Carlos was PUERTO RICAN...not Mexican. He was a wonderful father, husband, son, brother and friend! He would go out of his way to help anyone he could. Fact proven that he was on his way back from visiting the family of a friend who had just passed away when he himself was in the accident. That's right I said accident!!!

I CAN say I know him, because I DO! I have known him for over 25 years. This is a man who made a life for himself and his family little by little first in FL and then in OK and was proud of what he had become. Anyone who had the honor of knowing him should consider themselves VERY blessed!

Those of you who wrote such nasty things should be ashamed of yourselves. His family is out there suffering over this loss and you are calling him names!? He has a beautiful family...have some cosideration that his parents have had to bury their son, his wife has had to bury her best friend, his sister and brother have to bury their brother, his children have had to bury their father and we have had to bury our friend.

May you all be given forgiveness for the harsh words that you spewed. Keep in mind what has happened to us could very easily happen to any one of you.

What does it matter that he was hispanic? We have plenty of drunks in Oklahoma no reason to diss a dead man because he was hispanic. Also they said maybe it was a factor so we don't even know.

Again Channel 6...this is NOT an ACCIDENT.
Mr. South of the Border was INTOXICATED and chose to drive his vehicle while DRUNK and in turn ran off the road and nearly killed himself and whomever he ufortunately hits.
It wasn't an ACCIDENT that this happened...it was a CRASH caused by a wreckless drunk.

You people that are talking trash about Mexicans have no idea what they live through down there. We have it all her and if we have trouble we can turn to the goverment. Well guess what they can't their goverment steals from them. So before talking them down go live in there dirt floor no running water houses and see if you don't find any way to run here to the USA where we are blessed. Also last time I checked we all pay taxes that they take out of our checks. Also you can't get welfare if you don't have a social number. So next time you want to trash someone get the facts straight.

Thank you for your comment I am sick of people trashing people that come here to better the lives of their families. Also don't get me wrong there are many here that should be sent back. But leave the ones that are here working hard to feed there families leave them alone. There are a lot worse crimes going on we need to focus on.

You guys are so funny... Gas wont go up for the repairs of the truck. QT is banking this month, haven't you seen the price of gas at QT? When it goes down, they're making money. They have so much money, it's like pocket change to throw the truck away and purchase a new one. As for drinking, yes, he more then likely was but not just because he was "Mexican". Geese people. It's not just mexicans that run around without insuaance... I know at least 4 people that aren't carrying it right now because they just simply can't afford it.

WOW, maybe you need to visit the BAD side of mexico and see why the majority of them come over here and RISK THEIR LIVE'S to get here. They live with dirt floors, no doors and worries of wild dogs and animals killing them while they simply go out back of the house (without privacy) just to pee. They tell stories in mexico of the way we live here and to them it sound's like paradise, which WE americans take for granted "RUNNING WATER, FLUSHING TOILETS, RESTURANTS on every corner, LUXURY OF HAVING A CAR, BIG HOUSES, and so much more. So before you go judging... do some research, leave your back yard and possibly zip code. Live a little and maybe you will want to change the WORLD (Muahahahahaha)

You all in Okie-DokieVille are ignorant to the MOST HIGH POWER.(Meaning uninformed, unenlightened and destitute of knowledge) Obviously TOO MANY OF YOU drive intoxicated since SO MANY OF YOU jump to the conclusion that Carlos was drunk.Don't any of you fools know thats what the police do, they thorw ALL posibilities out there, and figure out the truth with a procedure call PROCESS OF ELIMINATION! How many of you are in the position to determine the cause of this collision? Were you there? Or maybe you all are the head investigators in this case…
OH, DIDN’T THINK SO! Then, after you hear the man has passed, you switch your words to such insincere ‘garble’ that you all are a vowel away from choking. You should have had sympathy and sorrow in your hearts and mouths when hearing of this horrific ACCIDENT! Instead, you spew hatred and negativity. Isn’t there enough of that in this world?
I grew up with the Velazquez family,
CHAve, right down the hall!
The Gordon Family sends The Velazquez family heart filled sympathy and prayers, hoping you all find strength in knowing Carlos was a good person and he is now in no pain, has no worries and is in a good and peaceful place.
To the family and friends of all who were involved, my prayers are with you all.
Some of you Okie-dokians need to find something productive to do with your time
instead of beating up on dead men and their families in sorrow.

To the family and loved ones, my heart aches for you, Carlos will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

To the ignorant ones who without cause hurl personal, racial and otherwise asinine comments while behind the protective shield of your computers. I am saddened by the stupidity on display. I highly doubt you would have the nerve to say the things you've said here while in the presence of family & loved ones.

One day we might be reading about you or yours. Keep things in perspective...

There are kids now missing a dad, a wife without a husband, a mother who's lost a child.

If you've got nothing constructive to say, read it and move on. No need to show the world how shallow you are.

wow, really people? Ok, I've only lived here since 2000 which is nothing compared to some, but i've grown to accept the way people are in Oklahoma and think nothing of what people say. and recently i hear more and more about people in other states talking crap about people in Oklahoma. honestly, I love it here, but reading through all of your comments just made me realize that you people are so ignorant.

have you ever left the state and told people you are from Oklahoma?(No, Arkansas does not count). They will look at you like you're an idiot. Why do you think people have such a horrible perception of Oklahomans? Read your comments, and you will see why you are referred to as "dumb redecks, and white trash morons."

please stop making Oklahoma look like its filled with dumbasses.

Sorry guys...i guess i should've said "ya'll somewhere in there so it makes sense to you.

I am saddened that someone from a state I love could make such an ignorant comment. This family has endured more sorrow in one week than ANYONE should have to deal with. They lost a close friend and one of the owner's of the company Carlos worked for and the night he was in the accident he'd spent the day with the husband of the woman killed earlier in the week in an accident. NOBODY knows what happened when Carlos was in the accident. He could have been crying or fallen asleep from being up all day and night with his grieving friend. His friends, family, and co-workers are wonderful people who are grieving two losses this week and your comments are not only hurtful, but ignorant! I will include you when I pray for his family because it's obvious you need as many prayers as they do!

To sit here and read this GARBAGE is repulsive, it is incomprehensible that people who know not a thing about a man, can sit here and speak as though they do. For those of you who obviously have nothing better to do with your lives than sit hear and blog about this man, need to find something a lot more productive to do with your time.

For those who have made these derogatory comments, have you yet to take a step back and put yourself in our positions ? Have you thought well this could have been my BROTHER, my SON, my HUSBAND, no because if you did then instead of posting your crude remarks you would be sending your condolences. Also for those who are trying to induce the "stigma" of being Mexican, one of the worlds richest men is Mexican so get the stereotypes out of your head and gain some class, Assholes.

I'm his niece,Megan and yes unfortunately he lost his life. But I'm not here to comment on that. If you want information look it up because you won't get much from me or my family. This comment happens to be for the person that's titled Amused because for some reason unbenounced to anyone that persons thinks they are amusing. SO uh hey Amused why don't you just shut the hell up. Obviously you're talking out of you ass because you don't know what the hell you're saying. So mind your business. Whether he had insurance or not was not the issue. The issue is that our family is suffering a great loss, a person who will be missed everyday. So just stop talking and start thinking.

Thank you to those that have posted kind words about my brother Carlos. I returned to PA from OK yesterday. My mother, brother and I were overwelmed with all the people that Carlos knew. He had touched so many lives in the short time he lived. He was a good man, a hard worker and a wonderful father.
My brother was also my best friend and this is by far the worst experience of my life. I do know that he is with God and he is watching over all those he loved. I do not wish this pain on anyone. There is an emptiness in my heart that can never be filled again.
All I ask is that people please stop making such negative comments about him. I know it is easy to assume and judge but please understand that it is a very hard time for us right now.
My heart goes out to the young men that were also in the accident and I'm glad that they only suffered minor injuries. I would not want their family and friends to have to endure this heartache that we are experiencing now.

Then let them make their OWN country better! And, you don't have to have a social security number to get FREE medical care. You don't have to have a social security number to get a FREE education. And because they don't have a social security number, they don't get drivers licenses and therefore, don't get car insurance so when one of them runs over your car, guess who pays? So, how much do the taxpayers pick up for FREE medical and FREE schooling? Check it out and then tell me it's okay....I applaud them for wanting a better life but why can't they just become citizens and live by the rules of the county that is helping them live a better life??

It may not be an issue to his family but it is a growing issue for those of us who ABIDE by the laws of our state and carry the insurance we are REQUIRED to carry. I am truly sorry this man lost his life and I am sorry for his family. But when things like this happen, it is always going to open the door to the growing problem of illegal aliens. Becoming a statistic is a HUMAN issue. Sometimes we forget that. Again, I am truly sorry for your loss and for the the results of this sad accident.

I hope he has a speedy recovery and is ok. It is a very hard situation to deal with. I guarantee that it will be easier for you not to read this forum. Although most of us are just lighthearted about things and truly do hope things work out for the best for everyone involved in the stories we read some others are still very cruel and negative. Maybe they are having a bad day and are using this as a vent but most days it is just that they are not nice people. You might get your feelings hurt. Again all the best to your family and congratulations on the new child
