NOW here we see a bunch of Okies who can't manage their own money even knowing in advance that writing hot checks is going to burn them, they still do it and they want the courts (i.e. the govt.) to save them from big business. Hypocrites. You can always spot a Sooner fan, they have tear stains on their shoulders from all the crying.

I actually don't write checks until a full week after the deposit. Now that may inconvenience some of you but since already know what they are going to do doesn't it say something about your lack of intelligence when you continue to set yourself up? Well sir, I went to full automation at the same bank. My paycheck went into my account at the first of the month, and my bills came out of my account at the first of the month. Guess what the bank did? It would take out money to pay all my bills first (causing overdrafts), and then post my paycheck. The bank would then deduct overdraft fees automaticaly from my account. I think this is dishonest, but I'm not whining about it or asking anyone to fix it for me. I took my business to another bank and have never had a problem. That bank lost a class action lawsuit for this dishonest practice. It was proven in court that they made millions just in overdrafts for holding on to people's paychecks and posting them later.

Good for you. You did what I have been telling people. TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR MONEY and you won't get OD fees. Why is this so hard for all the cry babies to catch on.

And the bad bank that posts the wrong way can just go on screwing people that don't? Interesting.

Interesting. Something like that. If you don't take charge of your money someone else will. If you don't like the way a business operates go somewhere else and let the idiots support bad business.

Earlier you said "Which bank are you going to move too? They all do it, it is an accepted practice among banks." So, now you're saying they DON'T all do it? And changing banks IS the solution?

All banks have this practice but differ on the use of it, sooner or later they will get you. If you want change try a Credit Union (which some call their bank). Credit Unions operate on different rules than banks. I didn't say changing banks IS the solution just a solution. If enough people leave a bank they will change their policies to get them back.

That would save everybody a lot of time.

Try convincing the bank to not make money off of customers, when they make it so easy by not taking charge of their money. Good luck.

Many, MANY people have now said they didn't OD their accounts or overspend, but you continue to insist it's all their fault and they can't manage their money, and that BOK does no wrong. Fine. We get it. Astrocreep, indeed.

My friends it goes way farther than sleazy banking practices. In the time that you are trying to figure out the "lag"of your transactions, the bank is investing and collecting interest on your money. Did you ever wonder how it is that "telecheck"(the check verification company)knows your bank balance more accurately than you do? It is SOFTWARE !!! BOK uses it to decide if they will make more money from overdraft fees or from holding your money and investing it. Telecheck uses it to control your spending. Those of you who have been on their "list" know this is true.

BOK lawyers are confident the bank is following the law. Well, what do you know about that? The banks lawyers are siding with the bank. What a surprize.
Of course the bank is ripping off the customers. Left BOK twenty-years ago.
But remember, Kaiser gives more money to charity than Demorats.

Every thing BOK is doing Quite possibly is Legal, but not ethical. The software they use is only one type (and definately not best, banks are thrifty)GLOBAL BIG BROTHER has the really good stuff. There are ways to use their limited methods to your advantage. Iam not talking about stealing or hacking just ways I have found use "their"system to help "US" survive. I am a struggling working class citizen,I know how good it used to be and am now living the nightmare of the american dream.

This is extraordinarily naive'. Banks manipulate posting order; they process debit card charges first because they are obligated to pay them once the customer's purchase is authorized, but they can "return" checks. Then - most banks post debit card charges from high to low dollar amount - despite the fact they are obligated to pay ALL OF THEM. So the hi to low order only generates more fees for the bank; damaging the customer. anonymous wrote: If you keep your checkbook balanced & don't spend what you don't have, you WILL NOT get any overdraft fees! It is the customers own fault for not keeping better records of their money. That is their responsibility when opening the checking account, and I'm sure they got all the disclosures about overdraft fees at that time. It's really simple. The bank has done nothing wrong. Most banks pay the electronic (ACH & ATM) transactions over first, due to them already having authorization to come out of the account, then the checks are paid in numerical order. I've never known a bank to pay the large items first causing more if the smaller items to overdraft. They are paid in the order in which you wrote the checks, so again, if it overdrafts, it's the customer's own fault for spending money when they didn't have it! You aren't going to sue walmart for charging you for your items before you leave the store, just because they are making a profit........banks have to make money to stay in business too, they don't just get everything free because they have cash! Even the money in the bank has to be bought from Fed.

I have had this problem with them for years..I may use my card for 2.00 and know there is 3.00 in there, then have to do a small overdraft later some time ..thus they put the largest one in first and then the one that was covered(they say in case a large payment like car or house), then all of a sudden I have two overdrafts...it sucks.
