Mike you forget in quoting Scripture that it does not say because the poor are always with us that they are criminals.

Poverty itself is not the cause of crime, anymore than being wealthy is. If it were we would not have so many ciminals that come from within the ranks of the privileged and wealthy, who can make their crimes go away much easier than can the poor. But are they really better humans? No.
