I bet the OTA is paying for this, which means more turnpike bond debt will take even longer to pay off. OTA says the bonds will be paid in 2028 if no further debt is incurred. I'll believe it when I see it. Whoever is to become the new governor needs to abolish the OTA. They've been in business almost 60 years and they have no plans to put themselves out of business.

Ask for the turnpike model of Depends or ask the attendant in the booth to Catheter you for the trip on those 2 routes? Just asking.

McDonalds and EZ Go will pay that part. They are the business owners of that part and pay the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority for the right to operate on the said turnpikes.

That is what the trash barrels are for that you see every 100 or so miles! They are also planning to plant tree's for the ladies to squat behind, but you will have to bring your own toilet paper as they did not allocate funds for that.

Yet port a potties could not be set up in that large concrete expanse or one of the 2 stores could not continue to operate until the new store was open? Why can our Turnpikes operate like this? Any other retail business would never allow this. Only because we are a captive audience do they even have the audacity to do this. Restraunts in Tulsa remodel in less tan 3 days and rarely totally close for this. Most construct overnight and may totally close for only 24 hours or so. You build the new building then it operates and you demolish the old ones.

Isn't Chickasha the only service plaza between OKC and Lawton? Oh, never mind, it's the way the OTA will get more money if you have to exit and then re-enter the Bailey if some one needs gas or food or a pit stop. What was I thinking.

I wonder if it would help the smaller towns along the turnpikes if they were more accessible? Seems to me that there is a lot of missed business opportunity when we funnel people thru the state's interstate highways. The toll plazas and booths are a major inconvenience for anyone who wants to stop somewhere and most people usually opt for waiting til they reach the end of the turnpike. Lots of lost tax revenue from sales taxes. The "service plazas" discourage exiting the turnpike even more than the toll booths!

One of my pet peeves: Not only does one have to pay a toll to drive on an Interstate highway in Oklahoma, but one has to suffer the indignity of using the substandard "facilities" to answer Mother Nature's call. It is beyond me why the OTA continues to turn a blind eye to the need for nice, clean, well kept rest stops. God knows there is enough money.....and the lack of these is a real black eye for tourism. Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, and especially Texas all have inviting facilities. What do we have? In some instances out houses.

Of course they'll never go out of business. Business is good. The OTA is the biggest scam ever deployed on the citizens of Oklahoma. It was passed 60 years ago because citizens were told that the OTA would go away once the bonds were paid off. What the citizens weren't told is that the OTA retained the right to build and renovate as much as they wanted to, which would increase the length and amount of the bonds.

It's called "bait and switch", and it's illegal. But since the state benefits from the money, the governor usually just turns a blind eye.

And I refuse to drive on them. The money I save goes in the tank and I enjoy the sceneic route. When I go to the lakehouse at Grand it is through 412 to 169 through Adair. Yes I could save time but whats the hurry and I don't have to pay "The Troll Booth". It is silly to fuss and yet support it too. Stop supporting the Trollist.

Actually, the state does not benefit one bit from this money. Only the bondholders and the OTA.
