This program doesn't make any financial sense. Use taxpayer money to rebate to a select group of taxpayers who happen to need a new appliance. I just bought a new appliance but yet I won't get a rebate since I didn't get it in the 2 week window that the central government scheduled. Same thing with cash for clunkers and the $8000 tax credit given to people buying homes right now. The constitution strictly forbids any tax that is not spent equally among the tax base. But who cares what the constitution says, huh? Plus, every dollar they give away has to be confiscated from someone else and on top of that another substantial amount of money is spent administering the program not to mention fraud and waste. Remember Katrina? WHen Obama starts declaring that the economy is getting better, don't beleive him, they are just shuffling OUR money around and wasting a bunch in the process!
Exactly. You are right about the Constitution, no one cares about it anymore, except the criminal element They, and their layers, use it to make the criminal act ok. When are they (the government) going to actually do something with the "stimulus" money that will help the help the average taxpayer, withut making us spend money on something we really don't need? I, like you, purchased a new appliance back in June, but won't see a dime in "stimulus money". And I don't plan on buying a new house anytime soon. So where is my help. Sometimes I think those that aren't working are better off. At least they can say 'well the government isn't wasting my tax dollars, since I don't pay any'.
