With American laying off all these mechanics and maint. personel and the FAA not even bothering to do their job, how safe do you feel getting on that plane?

How soon we forget. It was only a few short months ago when american canceled thousands of flights due to wiring issues that werent fixed right the first time. 3 years ago they decided to maintain their in-house mechanics instead of outsourcing because they felt their efficiency was better. Now they will just contract to the same offshore sites that do all the work for the other airlines.

For the 1300 that are getting cut I'm truly sorry that you have to go through it. Times are tuff. Looking for a job for you and your family will be hard. Don't sell yourself short. The airline industry is not a pleasant place to work. Find something you like to do and move on. Don't look back. Run as far and fast from the airline business as possible.

I was laying in my pool, looking at the clouds and the planes flying overhead, and realized the clouds were being made by the planes. I wonder just how much those clouds add to global warming, and how much better off we would be if domestic flights were gone for good. Electric high-speed rails, powered by wind generators, would eliminate a lot of polution.
