This thread isn't about whether prostitution is right or wrong. It isn't about whether or not it should be legalized. What I want to know is why men solicit prostitutes in the first place. If there was no demand, there would be no need for supply. With all the "free" sex floating around, I just don't understand why men solicit hookers.

With all the "free" sex floating around, I just don't understand why men solicit hookers. It's the "forbidden fruit" syndrome, coupled with wanting variety, plus, there doesn't have to be any emotional involvement. Most women,(not all), need to "be in love" and have an emotional involvement with their sex partners. Not all men share that need. Then, it comes right down to lust, and self gratification. If men have no moral qualms about what they're doing, it won't bother them conscience wise. However, it speaks well of men when they take a higher moral ground, and want to become deeply and romantically involved making and sharing a life with the one they are romantically AND sexually in love with. That's when the gettin gets good :) Why are we discussing this on Tulsa forum anyway I wonder? About men seeking prostitutes, that is, as if it were the only thing going on. Nowadays, we could just as easily discuss women having sexually based affairs, paying for sex with male prostitutes, gigolos, or Urban Cougars on the prowl. There are a multitude of variations on the theme of sex.

Because the thread about the prostitution sting created such a furor that I was just curious about why men would visit one. It just seems so risky...riskier than picking up a "one-night stand" in a bar. But then again, maybe it isn't.

A Norman woman was recently murdered by a guy she'd just met on one of these, the FIRST night she met him. Made the mistake of taking him into her home right off the bat, and that's a no no for anyone. In a bar, dating service or pick up. Cheap sex is just that....whether you pay for it or not, in my estimation.

It’s an altruistic thing with men. They don’t really want the product, but rather have a desire to help women out that are in difficult situations. The only reason men actually consummate the deal is so they won’t hurt the woman’s feelings.
