Looks like it was a good decision to go to the Riverwalk in Jenks for the Los Cabos Fireworks show. And the crowd was much nicer than what i've seen at riverparks. I know where I'm going from here on out for Fourth of July!

It is all Kathy Taylors fault- they didn't do a photo op before the show....

I was very disappointed but glad nobody was injured in the explosion. I thought I heard about the ones at Riverwalk Crossing but when I went online I didn't see where it said fireworks, so that is why we didn't go to that instead.

I'm curious if this has ever happened before at Riverparks' BoomRiver celebrations in past yrs. Sure doesn't look good for the NEW fireworks show people we hired, does it? First time out and they mess it up. At least we didn't pay for it all up front and sounds like they will be fair about the bill since 80% of the stuff didn't go off.

Just like Queen Kathy's administration, it just kind of fizzled and without even a bang.

Another "also ran" performance.

Again nice job Kathy lets take out the family owned company that has been doing the show for 20 years. Who have never had an issue with the show before. Seriously Tulsa we are the people electing these idiots at some point in our existance can we get one right?? Ever wonder why we will always be the step child to OKC? Kathy please step down now before you screw something else up!!!!!

While youre busy bashing the display dont forget that a lot of people donated a lot of money so that you could have some enjoyment. its not their fault that the accident happened and Im sure much more disappointed than any of you. Be careful of how and what you bash please. Show a little respect at least.

This was a result of going cheap. Ask the owners/producers of the last +20 years of doing this show for River Parks - ask them what happened. I think the price was so cheap that it had to be suspect fireworks and it showed.
(Those in the industry know to stay away from Chinese fireworks - they are cheap but faulty). If it wasn't cheaper - then why not go with what has worked for 20+ years.

So they said the equipment was destroyed, not the fireworks. What happened to all the fireworks? They need to reschedule the event. I would be very upset if I donated money and they did not reschedule and have the show.

Maybe there was some sort of gaurantee and the money can be recooped or next years show already be paid for. I dont think I would have handed all that money over without some sort of gaurantee. This is not to mention the other costs of security, insurance, etc.

"We don't pay for the fireworks show up front, so we'll work with them on it."

This should be a take or pay contract with this type loss absorbed by River Parks. You can bet, if it were one of there good ole boy contractors they would pay all and pay up front.

But, if the contractor has to lose, it's good it's one from the state of Misery.

Yet another reason why Jenks and the surrounding areas are kicking Tulsa's rearend. The Riverwalk fireworks were great. Tulsa is broke and had to get a low budget, cost cutting display. Mistakes happen and it is too bad for the people who waited all day for it.

Tulsans may not have paid for the entire dud of a show, but indirectly we will be paying for it. ONG who sponsored this thing will pass the costs along to us somehow and then there were all the police and fire involved who were working on overtime.....It goes on and on.

Gotta love the good old band wagon...

I personally work for AM Pyro and I can assure you this was not caused by going cheap... we performed hundreds of fireworks shows yesterday without any issues through out the country.

When you get a chance take a look at ampyro.com and look at some of the product lines we carry and some of the awards we have received.

Accidents can and will happen and sometimes we have to be thankful that no one was injured or killed. I was personally on this site earlier in the week and the crew has been working around the clock since tuesday trying to get it all setup. I can assure every one of you that this is not what anyone wanted.

A large amount of this show was product made right here in the US under the direct under sight of Bill Page ( 3 time grand master shell builder of the PGI). So to say that this was anything other than an accident is absurd.

Aaron is an awesome business man and I'm sure he will make this right.

Again be thankful that none of the crew was injured and that you have the freedom to make such lewd remarks against something you have no understanding over especially when it comes down to the risk involved.
