Obesity in Tucson

I recently returned to Tucson after 2 decades teaching in the 3rd world, where hunger is alive and well. I walked in Wells Fargo, where a woman half my age looked at me, looked at her heavy partner, looked at me again(my girlfriend and I bike 100+ miles a week) and said "Nice legs". I felt so cheap. Then we went to Walmart. It was frightening! Wall to wall fat rolls and plumbers crack and tattooed obese people waddling by glaring at us. What's happened in AZ? When did all these fat people move here? Did they eat all the thin people? Why do they hate us fit folk? Are they dangerous?
