On the night of the SPM, there will be a candlelight vigil outside of
Richmond
Hill Town Centre. Please email Karen Cilevitz <karen@gwsergo.com> if
you would
like to participate in this special activity ? it should be fun, but
perhaps
cold, so you must be able to stand outside for at least an hour in
February
temperatures. Provided will be the candles and holders for all our brave
vigil
volunteers, and hot chocolate!

Don Valley Brick Works
...The company decided to offer the land to the city for $4 million CAD
for
conservation purposes. However, a company called Torvalley Associates
offered
$4,001,000 for the site and managed to purchase the site. The company
had close
links with East York city council and managed to convince them to
rezone the
land for a housing development. The Toronto and Region Conservation
Authorityhad
final say on the matter since the site was partially on the floodplain
of the
valley. They expropriated the land in 1987 but were forced to pay
approximately
$14,000,000 since the land was zoned as residential.

Brick Works
a Top 10 destination for sustainable travel....Jonathan Tourtellot,
geotourism
editor at National Geographic Traveler, says the heritage structure
eclipsed
600 entries because it closes the divide between nature and urban life.
"Here's
a group doing a spectacular job of trying to make that reconnection in
an urban
area," he said.

Snow is everywhere. This is the coldest months that I can remember. We have had much snow but not as much like these months I think. Weather has been changing drastically it seems.
