"I think a passenger plane would not fly around the border. We suspected it was a spy plane, so we fired to defend our airspace," he said, adding the aircraft had been around 10km inside Cambodia.

It is just a waste of trainings from Viets for those Khmers. They just wasted ammos without success. If they were Vietnamese, the plane would be surely sent down with.....mermaids. Wahahahhahahahha! I remember during 23thJune of 1980 when we, Viets over ran PhnomChan refugee camp, of Aranyaprathet, Chonburi Thailand, the first A-37 Thai jet was down by Viets with ...THE FIRST SHOT. Wahahahahhahhaa!

It's a Bangkok Airway passenger plane which could not land on Seamreap airport because of heavy rain.

These untrained Khmer monkeys were drunk and they shot everything they saw.

It happens all the time along the border.

These untrained monkeys randomly shoot and when Thai soldiers fired back, they always claim that Thai soldier fired first.

Pathetic.

May I ask this.

Cambodian army doesn't have radar to identify plane?

So, every time Khmer monkeys look at the sky and can't see what plane flying over them, they shoot?

What kind of military is this?:-)

This is an obvious evidence to show that Khmer monkeys always started the fighting.

Semreap is very close to the border, and how could a passenger plane fly from Bangkok to Seamreap without crossing the border?

Should we start the campaign, "risking your life, flying to Seamreap" ?

But I don't think it's neccessary, after this news, less tourists will dare to fly across the border to Cambodia.

Explain where we can read this news that stated the Khmer were all drunk when they shot this plane.

Siam baboons, can you read English or was this news posted in your "Thai news in Google"? What type of medication did your Farang master feed you today?

Those untrained monkeys are drunk every evening.

Not only Thai passengers were on The plane, a lot of Khmer passengers too.

It's very dangerous for tourists to fly across the border to Cambodia.

Could you please explain how Cam military identify airplane.

They use binocular? ha ha ha ..:-)

See what untrained, ill-disciplined Cambodian soldiers look like.

They can shoot any plane flying over his head and forgot what he did when the morning come.

Snapshot of traffic at 20:35 in the night of July 11, 2012.

If's bad enough if Khmer monkeys shot the plane because they were drunk.

It's even worse, if they were not drunk while shooting passenger plane.

There is no "radar" at all in Cambodian military???

Thailand and Cambodia have had disputes several time whether who shot who first. It's hard to tell because Thai soldiers always fire back to protect themselves.

But this time it's very obvious who always shot first, and how randomly they did.

Thai soldiers are well-disciplined and won't fire first without the order from their commander.

But these Khmers monkey started firing every time they are drunk and their machine guns are nearby.

How could a passenger plane from BKK land at Seamreap without flying over the border??

Do they have to shot every plane crossing the border???

I don't get it.

This is what it look like when you give AK-47 to a chimp.

The same thing also happens when you give AK-47 to a Khmer soldier.

They randomly shot everything, especially when they are drunk.

And this time they got caught with no word to say.

ha ha ha .:-)

Let me summarize what Khmers and non-Khmer said about this news from other source.

These are Khmer monkeys' arguments.

-----
siem is a liar. how a passenger airplane circling at night in the dark over preah vihear temple and surrounding? stupid siem logic? next time educate the stupid siem and shot down that spy plane, really! if they can't land at siem reap, they should've circling in siem reap near the airport, not in the jungle over preah vihear, ok. that is why i say siem is stupid and a liar, ok! use logic, ok! stupid siem do that again, next time, i think khmer army should shoot it down for real, you know. i hate stupid people like that, you know!
---
Khmer troops have the RIGHT to fire any reason that Thai spy plane which have flown on the Cambodian territory. Cambodian troop have the right to short any plan that fly on the Cambodia territory. Actually the Thai, they are the one causing problem with Khmer troops. I don't really blame on the troops.
---
there have been several time that thai thug has illegally fly over Cambodia, like over Phreah Vihear and koh kong
---

And these are what non-Khmer (I supposed) said:
--
Thai military has good drone with good satellite technology to spy without
using civilian passengers airplane . No justification to shoot any airplane that
flew overhead which did not display any sign of threat . Good military discipline
will help . Report to expert first before taking action . Using jungle law for commercial flight is coward !
--
"Due to bad weather, the plane couldn't land".

The Cambodian soldiers trying to help land the plane by shooting it down. If anything, the Thai should thanks the soldiers for helping.

For the soldiers, if you can't identify what is up above, why the fuck are you shooting at it? What is your fucking rules of engagement? Oh, never mind. I was talking to the the Kingdom of Monkians.
---
I was thinking of visiting Siem Reap soon. I might have to re-think that if they fire on passenger planes.

Come on Siam baboons, so according to this picture, can you conclude that the Khmer soliders were all drunk when they shot at this aircraft? Just like how you conclude, that only .05% of 20, 000 000 expats and foreigners in Thailand only boink the Siam baboons and Siam ladyboys?

You are right, dont visit Siam Reap, or else you will continue to make claims of our Angkor Wat. AHAHAHAHA.

Btw, which Siam baboon King build Angkor Wat? According to our last discussion,

"the chronicle of Viang Chan (today Laos), Luang Prabang(today Laos), Lanna (northern Thailand), Nakorn Sridhammarat (Southern Thailand), and Phnom Pegn (Southeastern Thailand)" began in the year 150s?

So where can we read this Siam Chronicle other then in the Bangcock National Museum?

What the hell does Cambodia think it has that people want to spy..

Angkor-wat another Temple built by Ancient Aliens
---
A spy plane ??? spying on what ??? at that time, maybe they were looking how many men manned the machine gun. Flaming ridiculous- it is so stupid-it has to be a joke. firing a machine gun at a high flying aircraft, trying to frighten the pilot ??? who wouldn;t even know some plonkers were down there. They said they were WARNING IT, Ha Ha
----
The Commander concerned should be relieved of duty. In terms of air traffic what the cambodian military did is an international violation and whilst there seems to have been many jokes on this thread, the simple fact of the matter is thank Fcuk they did not hit and critically damage the aircraft. HOW can the cambodian commander be protecting cambodian airspace without first contacting the appropriate civil aviation and military aviation authorities!
--
How poorly trained are these guys?

If it was dark, and they thought it was a "spy plane," did not a single person in the military think to check with air traffic control at the airport? One call to air traffic control would have solved the issue. Had that plane been shot down, it would have been war, and not a knuckle head in Cambodia thought to check it out BEFORE firing on them. Jeepers creepers.

Who uses a passenger jet as a spy plane and fly it at such low enough altitude, at night, that it can be shot at? And how bad a shot is the Cambodian military to not be able to hit a low flying freaking passenger jet? They using mid-evil catapults or what? Or did they throw Khmer black magic bombs at it?

Interesting to see how this plays out.
---
Every flight, no matter how big or small, is perfectly tracked by air traffic control. Even in Cambodia. They know where the aircraft came from, where they are going, their altitude, speed, and what kind of craft it is. It is completely IMPOSSIBLE to mistake a passenger jet with a spy plane unless you are high as a kite, drunk as a skunk, or just shooting at anything in the sky to get your rocks off. Like I said, one phone call would have sorted it out in a matter of seconds.
---
That would be a 'drunken' trigger happy idiot, from my experience of the Cambodian military.

However, I do have to say that I was only 60kms from the border last year when it kicked off, photographing birds in northern Cambodia. Myself and a friend from Thailand listened to jets flying back and forth bombing the crap out of something. We were confused as we felt we were way too far from the border to hear the fighting. When we got back to the village in the evening they told us the Thai's had bombed an army base about 30kms north of us, which made more sense. Strangely this never made the news. We listened to this going on for about 2 hours with dozens of flights back and forth. I guess Hun Sen is hardly likely to admit the Thai's can bomb the crap out of his army whenever they feel like it. The Cambodian air force (a load of old migs) has been slowly rusting at Potchentong airport for at least a decade.

Don't listen to me. I am just a Thai.

Just listen some more to people around the word:

----
Just a bunch of boored soldiers with nothing to do all day long.
Them rounds fell short , maybe on someones head in some vilage somewhere,
still heavy annuf to crack some one's scull open
----
Can you imagine the front page news if they had hit it, or worse yet if they shot it down, what are these cambodian troops SMOKING?
----
Whats worth spying on in Cambodia? NOTHING.
----
Kind of a requisite when you're flying to a Cambodian airport I would suppose.

" BING BONG. Good evening ladies and gentlemen. This is your Captain speaking. We have just entered Cambodian airspace. We may be encountering some mild turbulence and ground fire will be light to moderate."
---
I suppose on reflection we have to give them a bit of leeway, remember, it's not that long ago that they killed all their intelligent people!
-----
F'n Cowboys........heads we shoot it, tails we go back to playing cards.
--
The need to spy on this small troupe emplacement, least of all at night, is ridiculously small. The idea that they need to shoot down a 'night time spy plane' is just idiotic in the extreme. The commander of the unit that did so needs to be removed and disciplined harshly.
---
djeezes, brains shortage when these guys born or what ??? cannot see the plane clearly, so let's just shoot it, it might be a spy plane, doing what ? taking pictures ?
---
Well said sir! The appropriate civil aviation authorities should demand an inquiry. Thankfully no damage was done - this time. Cambodia must be able to demonstrate that protocols are in place between civilian air traffic control and the military to avoid potential disasters of this nature. This time it was a trigger happy idiot with a machine gun - next time it might be someone who has a ground to air missile!
--
Most likely some really good one toke & yer on yer butt ganja. Stuff's dirt cheap
in Kampooch...bout 3 USD a kilo! And the Cambodian Army lads get high all the
time for many reasons...being much underpaid (if paid at all) and bored are
just two examples. And perhaps they also got some new ammo & were just
expending some old stuff. And of course the weather had an important
part to play in the incident....

Visit Cambodia!....by road that is.
