What the U.S. trying to influence a foreign election? No, this can't be!!

<insert sarcastic tone above>

This isn't news, and I don't have any issue with this. We've done this for ever, as we protect U.S. interests and strategic goal. Of course, this gets us in trouble at times. But we'll continue to do this when deemed necessary.

Rayhole, Its all uphill for the DPP at the moment, the USA arn't much help, and commies are licking Ma,s bum as hard as they can. We desperatly need you commies to send over some missiles to to aid the good cause.

Meanwhile, at a press conference yesterday, former premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞& #26124;), who serves as Tsai’s campaign chairman and ran as vice presidential candidate in the DPP’s failed bid in the 2008 presidential election, submitted the “three urges of respect.”

These are a call on Beijing to respect Taiwan, on the government to respect the people and on voters to respect their own free will.

The presidential election is the highest form of demonstrating the people’s collective will, Su said in Taipei, and Communist China should refrain from any interference in the democratic process or threaten use of force against Taiwan.

In the lead-up to the election, Beijing officials have issued a number of official comments that made no secret of their support for President Ma Ying-jeou’s (馬英& #20061;) re-election bid and have threatened that the stability of cross-strait relations could be undermined if the DPP were to re-enter the Presidential Office.

Billy Retardo, you are right about DDP on an uphill battle but guess why? Its simple to us observing from far away. Its their ideology of playing the Tai Du cards while disregarding the well being of ordinary farmers and peasants who desperately need Mainland market to sell their produce. DDP's ideology is not much different from your much hated CCP who was running China in the 60, 70's with commuinst ideology and Taliban running Afghaistan with Koran which God knows when and who wrote for what purpose. That's why they don't get majority's support, becuase majority don't give a shit about Tai Du but their rice bowl so to speak.

Tai Du is a lost cause, not only Mainland China openly supports Ma who doesn't condone Tai Du, but your American masters are more and more inclined to supporting Ma, due to his maturity and predictability. This is an clear indication that neither China nor USA would want a war, possibally inflicted by the recklessness of DDP, if they are ever in power. Without USA's support, Tai Du is dead.

Respect are earned none would be given for free, and if you really think democratic elections are without any power interference, then you are either dumb or naive, tell me which election is not heavily contaminated by the rich and powerful in Asia?

Billy-turd: It's obvious the stakes are stacked against the DPP on Jan. 14. Even Uncle Sam is against them (or YOU).

2012 election is Taiwan independence movement's last chance; don't be too sad when you lose. Stay away from matches.

I put Taiwan-China as the current dark horse in the unintentional efforts to reduce the planet to a hunk of charred carbon, behind Israel-Iran and then India-Pakistan. And of course Russia and any number of neighbors should be in there, too.

It's sort of like the IA R. caucuses - so many unpleasant choices!

Dr. Tsai said it's very OK to invest in a government investment venture called Yu Chang .

She was vice premier at that time and she not only was chairman of the company but also let her family invest.

And Dr. Tsai even said lately that she would made same decision if given same situation now.

Of course Uncle Sam is worried.

Can one imagine Madam Hillary Clinton or Mrs. Obama or even Sarah Palin doin such a tricky and profit making venture?

And she's not even president yet!

...and you know what?

Maybe she thinks Taiwanese voters are such easy prey!

Maybe even Tainan will surpise her?

Just vote in the next Gitmo Bush among the GOP candidates and you'll have a US-Iran charred carbon. Good luck! Make sure you do this twice, just like last time.
