Saudi Princess Launches 'My Guardian Knows What's Best For Me' Campaign

There are 23 comments on the www.memri.org story from Oct 27, 2009, titled Saudi Princess Launches 'My Guardian Knows What's Best For Me' Campaign. In it, www.memri.org reports that:

Recently, Saudi women activists, led by Saudi Princess Jawaher bint Jalawi, launched a campaign called "My Guardian Knows What's Best For Me," calling for redefining the term "guardian" and for opposing calls by those with liberal views to improve the status of women in Saudi Arabia.

Princess Jawaher's campaign is a response to the struggle launched in July 2009 by Saudi women's rights activist Wajeha Al-Huweidar calling for abolishing the mahram ("guardian") law, which requires women to obtain the approval of a male relative for nearly any move they make in their lives ...

The concept of "My Guardian Knows What's Best For Me" is just part of the propaganda men use to control women.

A real woman does not need a male guardian any more than a fish needs a bicycle.

May Allah reward Jawaher bint Jalawi for her efforts in this regard. We have no authority to "abolish" the guardian system as we humans didn't institute or create it in the first place.

No the evil Muhammad did! Do you help to torture and persecute little girls and women for your masters as well? And yet see nothing wrong, with barbarically murdering people simply because they are no longer willing to make Muhammad there god? Is the princes a dog that her Master may murder slaughter rape torture and more and yet still know best for her?
if Allah is most merciful . you are so brainwashed as to believe men know mercy more then women? all part of why I hate islam its all based on brainwashing hatred and lies!!

I read this awhile ago.

Easy to see why allah said hell will be filled with muslim males and Jinn.

A very insecure group of males, for sure.

I admire the women. Can't figure out why they are the only ones with working brains

No. But I don't know why allah thought muscle and money were more important than brains, either.

Must really suck to be born an ambitious, curious female in islamoworld. Can you imagine what their society would be like if they let their women speak? Don't know why they don't make Khadija their role model rather than the self important aiesha.

Shia Muslims further believe that Ali, Muhammad's cousin and son-in-law, was the first of these Imams and was the rightful successor to Muhammad.

Correct on both posts!

And sunni and shia have been killing each other for the last 1400 years to claim the right to say, they are the religion of peace and tolerance :D
