This News is no longer valid. Samatau church has corrected their position and now followed the Mission's decision. Glad they did! Also the news source...eventpolynesia.com is no longer publishing the news on its website...I guess because of the change now in Samatau's position. Advise to other Adventists who do not fully understand the reason behind the SDA's position on the matter, please read the official statement on Samoa Observer (Dec 28 Ed) to at least shed light on your little world. God bless His Last Day Church!

Situations like this reveal the flaws of the International Date Line and the modern Gregorian Calendar: The ancient Hebrews used neither. The original Biblical calendar used by Moses was based upon the phases of the Moon, not a continuous weekly cycle. This Lunar Calendar was used for all the feast days, including the weekly Sabbath.
The Biblical calendar starts every month on New Moon Day, and the Sabbaths are always in the same place: The 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th of the month. This is why the feast days in Leviticus 23 have a Sabbath on the 15th of the month.
in AD 321, Constantine created a big compromise. He blended the Hebrew idea of a seven day week with the Roman Julian calendar's concept of a continuous weekly cycle, and added the veneration of the "Sun God" from Mithrasim to create the Roman calendar used today. He enforced his calendar upon the entire Roman Empire with military power.
Constantine'S calendar was modified slightly by Pope Gregory into the calendar used today. Therefore, neither Saturday nor Sunday is the Biblical Sabbath.

It may be time for the SDA Church and Leadership to acknowledge once more the reason for their existence. The October 22, 1844 date for the Anti-Typical Day of Atonement, a feast of Leviticus 23, is actually based on the Biblical, Astronomical, Chronological and Historical reckoning of the Luni-Solar Barley Harvest Mosaic Law calendar as used by the Hebrews for centuries till about the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 and restored under inspiration by the Millerites in 1844.

It was changed by both the Jews and the Romans around AD 325 with the Decree of Nicaea. The Creation Sabbath is based on the same reckoning as the Festivals of Leviticus 23, being the calendar of the sanctuary.

The Heavenly Father is allowing the agitation of the calendar at this time and expects His people to stand and declare the reason of their faith based on His true calendar. Saturday is the 7th day according to the Roman, Pagan, Papal, Gregorian calendar reckoning (solar). But the 7th day Sabbath is based on the LUNI-SOLAR BARLEY HARVEST MOSAIC LAW calendar as restored by the Millerites in 1844 after more than 1500 years of falsehood. It is high time for His calendar and worship time (based on sun, moon and barley) to be restored in the context of the Three Angels Message.

Blessings

The only way October 22, 1844 can be the Day of Atonement or the 10th Day of the 7th month is through the use of the Gregorian calendar solar reckoning and the Biblical Luni-Solar Barley Harvest Mosaic Law reckoning. This the Millerites understood in 1844 and restored the only true calendar of the Bible and solved the following puzzle:

October 22 1844 = the 22th of the 10th month = 10th day of the 7th month

How can it be? By lining up 2 calendars and converting them between each other as you would do for:
100 km per hour = 60 miles per hour by converting with a factor .6 (100 km X .6 = 60 miles)

Thus the Gregorian Solar reckoning can be converted by finding out the new moon for October 1844:
Conjunction being October 11th
New Moon Crescent being October 12th
New Moon Horned Crescent being October 13th

Which counting 10 days from October 13th will bring you to October 22th as the Millerites calculated in 1844 and the un-impeachable date for the Day of Atonement and beginning of the Judgment according to Daniel 8:14 and Daniel 9: 24-27.

Blessing
