The point of this article is that Ukraine and Russia’s views of "Soviet" and "pre-Soviet" history are radically different.

Ukraine has moved to a Ukrainian national historiography, previously suppressed by Czarist and Bolshevik Russias.

Neofascist Putinist Russia hand has continued to maintain the tradition of suprmacist Soviet Russophile and Russian chauvinistic interpretation of history --especially Ukrainian history.

School textbooks in both countries give radically different perspectives on every aspect of Russian-Ukrainian history over the last two millennia.

The history of Sevastopol and Crimea are no exceptions.

And as I learned in my studies at the univeristy, it is imporatant to consider as many sources as possible when studying history.

And one cannot necessarily take the Ukrainian view as the truth either. If there is a Soviet Version and a Ukrainian Version, then the truth lies somewhere inbetween. Do not for one minute think that just because it is the Ukrainian version that it is the truth and nothing but the truth.

The truth lies somewhere inbetween those two versions. And it is logic and knowledge which distinguishes the truth.
