Now let me see...... Just how has this "huge economic" benefit from joining NATO affected Poland. Mmmmmm I'm looking around and you know what? There has been none. Perhaps you are aware of some in which case I would be interested for you to enlighten my mind. The benefit is in the fact that Russia now has to reckon with NATO, not just Poland, and Poland is a lot safer for this.
If you really think Ukraine wants to join NATO because of economic benefits then you are a dreamer. The issue is one of security and the economic benefits, if any at all, are secondary to that.
So, do you think that Ukrainian president is a liar? Search the Ukrainian forum at Topix, recently there was his interview. Probably, Smetana will help you. Yushchenko said about dozens of billion investment in Poland economy because of joining NATO. He said the same about other countries. And he said that the reason for his own country. But as we know, people in Ukraine don't supporting joining NATO. So, if he will hold a referendum about that question soon, he will lose.

Economic losses for Poland will be even more from decrease in trade with Russia.
Russia is not obliged to trade with the unfriendly country.
Production of an agriculture which was in Poland with plesure and easy can give us friendly Bulgaria or Hungary.

He is certainly not a liar, but may have been misquoted. Either way it is not really that important. However, be under no illusion, the main reason for such countries joining NATO is for security and not economic benefits.

The main issue was, why is present Russia not condemning Stalin by similar intensity than you are condemning Hitler.
I have a feeling, that you keep Stalin as your hero and actively admire him. Of Hitler you are free to talk what kind of evil he was but not of Stalin.
Or is it really so, that Russians admire Stalin and forgive his wrong doings?
I can't say that Russians admire him, he was tyrant and murderer. But when he died, he leave the strong and powerful state compared to the years he come to power. When Hitler died, Germany was not even the state. That's the difference we can't ignore too.

As it was written in Encyclopedia Britannica: "He had found Russia working with wooden ploughs and is leaving her equipped with atomic piles".

I very much doubt it, but I can understand why you would wish that this was in fact the case.

Yeh!! Have to make room for Putin's casket and statues when he dies!! The god of the new era of a dictatorship.. Ha! Anyhow, the government will not bury the devil, but keep it around for a symbol and as a power reminder that the government is all powerful..

They are so primitive that they still worship dead gods and one living god..No wonder that they are so backwards..They can't even go forward..A backward people. At the rate their going, they will soon return to the trees and spend their days throwing coconuts at each while swinging on the vines..The worlds joke!!

That is typical beautified British lip service only. As well the following following statement is true.

Before Stalin Russia did build best cannons in the world (Obukhov) and Russia was a relatively free and fast developing country (before bolshevik revolution) where few citizens were in prison or forced labor camps. Also people were free to leave Russia when they wanted.

When Stalin left Russia many people in Russia still worked with wooden ploughs especially in remote areas, were in forced labor camps and people were not free to leave the country (like before revolution or today) and Russia was in full war economy unlike most other countries in the world.
