I have made a number of trips from the US to Paris, France and found not only the people to be rude but know it all. They think they are superior to US people.

They don't think they are superior to US people, they KNOW they are superior to them !!

I must disagree about people being rude in Paris. Parisiens are no more rude than anyone else in a large city. They don't have time to babysit tourists and have their own worries to attend.
Having grown up in a tourist area, I can empathize with their attitude if it is less than accommodating :)
