Ryan asks if Obama will meet deadline to submit a budget request this year

By Erik Wasson - 01/09/13 05:22 PM ET

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Wednesday asked the White House if it will once again miss the legal deadline for submitting an annual budget to Congress.

Under the law, Obama must submit a budget by the first Monday in February, but he has met the deadline only once. The annual budget submission is supposed to start a congressional budgeting process, but that has also broken down. The Senate last passed a budget resolution in 2009.

Its simply one agency of the US goverment buying the treasury notes from another branch. Yes the USA used to seel its treasury notes on the open market. mostly to china. But we made the chinese mad by siding with japan over some islands. So now the Chinese are not in the market to buy them. So the USA goverment sells them to itself? Its akin to If you and your wife have seperate checking accounts. And their is no money in them. So you write each other checks for $1000. and deposit them . then you spend that $1000 and you keep doing it over & over. Of course you would soon be in trouble because the bank would catch you. but there is nobody to catch & prevent the US goverment from pulling the same scam.

If Obama Can Just Create A Trillion Dollar Coin, Then Why Do We Have To Pay Taxes?
If Barack Obama can “solve” the debt ceiling crisis by printing up some trillion dollar coins, then why does the federal government need our money? As another debt ceiling showdown approaches, many in the liberal media are suggesting that if Congress does not raise the debt ceiling that Obama should just have the U.S. Treasury create a trillion dollar platinum coin and use it to pay our bills. It sounds crazy, but many notable voices (including Paul Krugman of the New York Times) are supporting this idea. But if the federal government has had the power to create trillion dollar coins out of thin air all this time, then why do we have to pay taxes? Not only that, why do we have a national debt? If the federal government can just create money whenever it wants, then why does the federal government ever have to borrow it from others? The U.S. Constitution actually grants Congress the power to “coin money”, so why is the Federal

The coin like Obama would be worth nothing. It would be minted of lead and have the same value as feces.

No stats about psychopaths and mass shootings? Dismissed.
Connecticut doesn't have ALL the gun restrictions I support, and in any case, restrictions in isolation from the rest of the country aren't very helpful...guns will still flood in from outside. True in NYC and Chicago, too, among other places. Further, because we can't stop ALL shootings, does that mean we shouldn't TRY to stop them, or as many as we can?
Posts #2400 and #2413 had links with additional links in the article. There should be further studies to see if there is a connection and provide better stats.

What type of gun control do you want the federal government to provide? You would need something in the area of regulating commerce or taxation. The federal gun free school zone law was found to be unconstitutional. They are state laws. Laws violated with guns are state laws. There was a federal law regulating the interstate transportation of guns. What happened to that?

A data base for gun background checks already exists. It was once called the NCIC data base. People prescribed antipsychotic drugs should be added. How do you overcome courts that downgrade felony charges to a misdemeanor in a plea bargain that can be later expunged? Or, courts that have a PTI program. That's how Zimmerman was able to purchase a gun. What about states that simply don't provide information to the data base?

What would a federal registration do that an ATF trace can't do now? I'm against compelled registration anyway.

So then the Federal Giverment knows the location of every gun in the United States. First of all, then it makes this country somewhat a prison. That is what the Second Amendment is about. A 'free state' not beholden to government bureaucrats. It's the Giverment not knowing, where the guns are located therefore apprehension on their part, to enslave the citizenry. Doesn't mean they won't try, up to now it hasn't happened.
