We jumped off of the fiscal cliff in May 2012. That is when our Debt to GDP ratio hit 101.5%. Game over boys and girls.

Been there, heard that. Bush did it and rich people need to pay more. His leading from behind doesn't work as well at home as it does on the rest of the world.

Obama is taking the 'cliff' to his liberal base Blacks, Hispanics Unions, students and illegals that get the free Obama's checks and want even moer money from the 'rich'. Romney did not know that most Americans are enjoying free Obama's checks paid by the hard working GOP guys for life time while they will never need to work again in their lifetime, making them Obama voters for lifetime. In fact, 52% of the liberal Americans demand more and more money from the hard working conservatives as Obama calls for more spending in 2013 on his free healthcare for the illegals students of the Black and Hispanics to buy their votes for the next election. Raising tax on the White Rich is a win-win situation for Obama: Destroying the private sector and spreading more money for the liberal parasites. Will the GOP losers raise taxes only to give Obama double win including winning the next elections with more bribe money to his liberal parasite base and the unions?

The WH is looking for an excuse to activate the OCCUPATION, currently camping at the gate. Washington put the financial cliff in place, and dared the office across the hall to dared the men who shared the bathroom to flinch. The bottom line is, Mitt losing will pull the DNC into the toilet.

They want the cliff to happen. If they didn't they'd learn how to budget like normal folks do....you stop the reckless spending and make wiser decisions with the money you have...instead these guys keep on with the reckless spending and want to raise taxes to fund that rather than really address the problem. It's not a money problem, it a spending problem. And we keep putting folks in office that don't even care.

I hope not and I do hope he will work with across the aisle as he said he would. He has to LEAD - HE IS THE PRESIDENT.

We are all going to be less fortunate before it's over. Not to start an argument, but my understanding of the tea party is that they would like there to be responsible spending...maybe your understanding is different, but that is the main message I hear from them.

You are blaming boner and teaboogers - the one that has to get a clue is OBAMA - he should realize he is the president and he should realize he should be working with the congress. Now if he goes to blaming Bush or any other person for his failure then everyone will know he is NOT A LEADER. If we go over the FISCAL CLIFF WE ONLY HAVE OBAMA TO BLAME.

Many small businesses pay tax under the income tax system and they can't claim the deductions you mentioned. That would be Coburn's point.

It does seem that President Obama is willing to take the middle class over the cliff by not compromising. It appears to be another 4 years of more of the same between these 2 parties. The American public is sick of this fighting. Both sides need to compromise. It's more of the same, no unity.

He doesn't have a clue if he is putting Boehner together with the tea party. They are the ones giving Boehner a hard time. You are right about responsible spending.

They're converting their dividend stocks to hard assets (jewelery, paying off homes, buying expensive cars, buying off shore vacation homes). They're also splitting up their companies to smaller units or selling them off and shutting down. All this year, not next. These people are wealthy because they are smart. Sorry, but you obots are not going to get their money. You and I will be stuck paying o-bills. Forget about a tax return next spring. Hope you're ready.
