The Paddlewheel restaurant, a mainstay of The Bay's downtown store in Winnipeg, will close later this month, company officials have confirmed.

Yeah, I agree great memories. But 1970's style cafeteria food, salty salisbury steak, soft fries, hard jello, just doesn't cut it anymore. There's so many choices now and people's expectations are higher. Why not open a new eatery with top notch food and great atmosphere? Probably wouldn't work in that space. Downtown Winnipeg continues a slow death as Polo Park and Kenaston expand. The first plan should be housing for 30,000 in the downtown area.
