What's "anti-gay" about reporting the fact that the Euro-dictatorship wasted taxpayer money on a big party for homosexual activists?
Oh yeah, facts and truth are now "hate" and "bullying".

A conference should not consist of merely 200 people. I would not be against such spending, if it were a true convention... or if these 200 people were outrageously important and difficult to coordinate to be in the same spot.

Otherwise, it's a waste of money during a time when we should all be tightening our belts. Feel-good politics/rhetoric does nothing when the true reality is more stark.

Really, when it comes to conventions, 124,000 is not all that much. I work in the conventions dpt for m company. They want to make seem like a lot of money and a waste of money, but it is actually fairly par for the game. A larger convention would have cost even more. Conventions are expensive.

The big deal hee is that they are trying to say that these "homosexual activists" didn't deserve to have such a convention. Yet, there are conventions, where even more money is spent, for "heterosexual activists" happening regularly as well. Double standard? Yes. That's their way.

I have nothing against the gay community because I am a member of it. But the "activist" side of the community is just lost for direction.

They want equality and I think they should have it but let's examine their advertising campaign which consist mostly of gay pride parades. And while they shouldn't be ashamed of being gay their actions at these events are the poorest method to convince anyone that they are anything but abnormal. They get so caught up in the fact that their sexual desires are different that they can't show the side of them that gets dressed and goes to work everyday - no they must have a parade that brings the bedroom onto Main St.

If one where to design a campaign to garner acceptance from the rest of society they couldn't possibly do a worse job by flaunting the very thing that makes people uncomfortable in their faces. If they just dressed up like they were going to work or a ballgame or even the beach and just walked down the street holding hands with their partners they would get a lot more respect and a lot less hate.

I don't think that there's anyone here that isn't aware of the typical gay pride parade. So I won't go into the details.
