Mexico will never change. If they had gotten all of the people to vote at gunpoint and it was a 100% win by PRI this is what the government and the police wanted. It still would not change the outcome.

No the drug dealers can go back to the old regime of paying bribes to police, military and higher ups in government. He is stating they will not be going after drug dealers. A win for the drug dealers and people with government jobs or connections to government.

The USA would be much smarter to take the 1.8 billion that they will be wasting by giving it to Mexico to fight the drug war. Why should they give it to them if they are saying they are not going after them.

That money could be put on the border to carry out an all out war on drug dealers. They need to do something to make it legal to shoot at armed dealers in boats on the river and to pick up people that are breaking the law by trying to cross illegally.

Mexico could be putting thousands of police and military at the roads that go to the Rio Grande and stop it point blank. Let them carry it across country but Stop it at the funnel. But they will not for obvious reasons.

You're right. Our aid to Mexico amounts to complicity.
