Please get your history straight. Until 17.09.1939, Grodno was a city in Poland. After the Soviet invasion of Poland, it became Soviet-occupied. In June 1941, the Germans took Grodno. In 1944-45, Grodno, again, came under Soviet domination and soon became part of the Byelorussian SSR and was so until July 1991, when the USSR disintegrated. That is when Belarus was constituted as an independent state. Therefore, Belarusian territory can not be referred to in "state" terms with respect to events occurring there during World War II because, during the war, it was former Polish territory with a ignificant Polish population.

True, but the North American perception has been for years since WWII that any country under the sphere of the Soviet Union was considered to be in Eastern Europe although not geographically correct. Obviously our education system dealing with history and geography needs drastic improvement.

Who helped create that "sphere" if not the American Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the half-American Winston Churchill? Both of them were traitors of an ally - Poland - and suspected co-conspirators in the elimination of Poland's premier, Gen. Wladyslaw Sikorski through an air "accident" at Gibraltar on, of all days, the 4th of July 1943. What a tribute to another country's strife for survival and independence!
History should be rewritten, so as not to be kind to either Churchill, or Roosevelt because they were nothing short of being "Mo-Foes."
