These proxy wars are always fertile fodder for external charlatans, chauvinists and warmongering politicians. One must always step lightly in such company, and be sure to move one's wallet to a zippered pocket.

Israel is not Georgia. How many times do I have to say this? Russia must beg big time.

The West fears that Russia can dig up too much dirt on the "rebels" and Isreal, along with interfering and doing some reconnaissance, but over all I say they can dig up dirt on all the going ons. The proof would be irrefutable. They give the name peace-keepers for a reason, what's the use seeking peace if the Russians are denied sending soldiers in those blue helmets in the first place, most certainly an insincere West from the start...

They don't have to be there as UN peacekeepers...

"... The 1974 ceasefire accord precludes the five, veto-wielding UN Secretary Council permanent members from serving with the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF). He put the offer forward nonetheless..."

"...military and intelligence sources report that the Kremlin has not finally decided if and when to go through with this plan but stands ready to order the troops’ departure for Syria at any time.

Yep. Thank God Netanyahu isn't as stupid as Saakashvili and doesn't listen to Mcain et. al when they say "You launch a surprise blitzkrieg on a de facto independent state and we'll blame the other side and go to bat for you."

Then again, maybe he is.

For Russia to sell large quantities of weapons, ammunition and equipment to a warring party they wish to peacekeep with is a conflict of interest and would clearly set up a mission to fail. Send in a Canadian battle group under UN flag or Australian, give them a strong mandate to hold boundaries.

Do you know how many arms Putin has sold to the Assad dictatorship so far? They will tolerate genocide to keep their last Middle East pawn.

I agree that there are some extremists in the opposition, but Russia's actions have NOT helped the situation at all.

sheeple attack!

What's this crap about genocide?

Do you even know what the word means or just throw it around like a monkey see, monkey do sheeple?

Tell it to the Shi'ites, the Alawites, the anti-al Qaeda Sunni, the Druze and the Christians who's out to commit 'genocide' on the 'heretics'.

Stupid sheeple. Go home.

Okay, a simple question.

Who has killed more people in Syria - Assad's soldiers or the rebels?
