Will restore him?? The same Congress that voted in a landslide to remove Zelaya is voting again. Am I missing something? What makes Mel think the results will be any different.

Yeah that has me thinking also why Zelaya would agree to the pact knowing that the deck is stacked against him. Did he give up or does he have other ideas? Also no immunity? I am scratching my head.

Dems asked the library of congress for an opinion on the honduran presidents egection by the honduran courts,,, hence, military. The Obama admistration condemed the removal of a socialist castro/chaves wannabe. Why did the Obama administration condemn a government following their constitution? Why are they trying to hide the library of congress opinion? When they asked for an opinion? Why did'nt Obama not stand up like reagen and say "Take down this wall". Democratic demonstrators were being killed and are now as we speak being executed. Death sentences in Iran. Do you feel for them? Your a liberal. Iran is on the verge of revolution. They want to join the world, they want to send the mullahs packin and join the main stream world to some extant.(mispelled)

I wonder what goes through your mind. Please explain it to me.

If the Obama administration continues on their extreme leftwing position ,I can't see the American people back him for a 2nd term due to the fact that 40% of Americans are Conservatives and 36% moderates. The math just doesn't line up. There never was a coup in Honduras and they were justified removing Zelaya and sparing a Hugo Chavez takeover of their nation.

looks like congress is going to drag out the process. Zelaya is pissed! Hopefully they will drag it out until the elections are over. I saw Shannon T. said that the Honduras should solve their own problem and no matter what they (US)will recognize the Honduran election. Looks like Zelaya is out. HA!

There is clearly less chance of violence if they just drag it out as long as possible, because if they officially deny his reinstatement, it will automatically lead to war in the streets.

Congress should first just vote to see how many are in favor (or opposed) to Zelaya facing the Honduran Courts for those 16 criminal charges before voting to return him to the presidency.

John, do yo feel the US put pressure to him sign the agreement on for his sons safety or do you think he knew he screwed up coming to Honduras and the Brazilian embassy reminds him of what it will be like locked up?

Better grammar version: Sorry

John, do you feel the US put pressure on him to sign the agreement for his sons safety or do you think he knew he screwed up coming to Honduras and the Brazilian embassy reminds him of what it will be like to be locked up and have the key thrown away for his crimes.

Shannon is denying that he pressured him to sign, based on the allegation that they threatened to prosecute his son for distribution of drugs. My question is, why aren't we prosecuting his son for drug distribution???

Other than the Brazilian embassy, prison is one of the safer places that he could be, as I think that it's likely that his life is in danger on fronts! Not the least of which is when his ALBA buddies call in their marker for his not being able to deliver Honduras into the grand plan/scheme for Latin America.

I think that he signed because he realized that his goose is cooked, and although he's very adept at using the media, I think that all of his loud protestations are all bravado and bluster, as I think that he knows that he's not going to be reinstated, and he's playing to his own base, in hopes of saving his own butt!

I actually do not think that Shannon threatened him with that...but we should be prosecuting his son for drug trafficking..of course there is a tropical storm that formed off the coast of Nicaragua today...heading like mad for Tegus..maybe he will be flooded out of the embassy...

Will ALBA really gain anything from killing him at this point or you think they want to shut him up in the event he sings like a canary? As far a his son goes with drug trafficking how tough is to know if they actually have proof to indict or they know he is hanging around with a bad crowd and giving him a reminder that he could be caught at the wrong place at the wrong time. That is just speculation out there. The good thing is that Zelaya signed the agreement so there is forward momentum. If he is not reinstated and elections come to pass how is he going to get out of his jam? Will Brazil give him up? Will he try to get out with Red Cross International help? Any wild guesses out there?
