There's Something Spiritual About the Desert

Jan 7, 2010 | Posted by: macedonian1 | Full story: www.ioanthem.com

Throughout history, people have journeyed to the natural refuge of the desert in search of peace and spiritual renewal. St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Monastery in the Sonoran desert, just south of Florence, has attracted such travelers. Here both followers and visitors come to rest and reflect in this beautiful desert oasis. It was the summer of 1995 when six Athonite monks arrived in the hot Arizona desert with the 1,000-year old sacred teachings and culture of the Holy Mountain, Athos. Mount Athos, a sacred mountain on the Athos Peninsula in northern Greece, is home to 20 independent Eastern Orthodox monasteries as well as many sketes and hermitages.

St. Anthony`s Monastery paradise on earth, a wonder in the middle of the desert.

Breathtaking grounds, churches, citrus, olive trees, and every type of tree one can think of.

People from all over the world visit. We stayed on the grounds for 7 days, a lifetime experience.

What can one expect from ILLITERATE SLAVKOVS. GREEKS CREATE WONDERS WHEREVER THEY GO.

THIS MONASTERY IS ONE OF THE WONDERS OF THE U.S. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE from all over the world. A groups from Australia, China, Russia, etc. etc. etc. VISIT TO WITNESS THIS MIRACLE THAT COST MILLIONS OF $ in the middle of nowhere.

This is not the only monastery, many more Greeks have built all over the states and Canada.

SLAVKO, SAY A PRAYER.

OUR GODCSKIJI, WE ARE IN HEAVEN, PLEASE KEEP GREEKS SAFE AND SOUND, AS WE, THE MAKSEDONCSKIJIANS DEPEND ON THEM FOR OUR DAILY BREAD AND LIVELIHOOD, AND FORGIVE OUR EVIL TRESPASSES THAT WE, THE SLAVS, INFLICT AGAINST OUR BENEFACTORS, THE GREEKS, FOR EVER AND EVER AMEN.

I did not know that Christian Orthodoxy is Greek, but then again knowing those southern gypsies they nationalise everything from yogurt, sheep, goats, donkey,s and of course feta cheese.
No wonder they are where they are in the world at the bottom.

Also pray that your mother's hairy lip quits tickling me when we make out...And maybe your country makes enough gyros to pay back it's debts.

Molotov anyone?

I tripped on peyote for 2 days straight once. A buddy of mine's uncle belonged to the Peyote Church. Crazy shit!
