There are 4 comments on the Dec 4, 2009, Mid-Day Mumbai story titled Empty shacks in goa drive tourists away. In it, Mid-Day Mumbai reports that:

Dispute over allotment of beach shacks during peak season has resulted in a stand off that is harming both the state's tourism industry and small-time shackowners There is little business at the Goa beaches at the start of the peak tourist season because the process of alloting beach shacks has been delayed.

Why is it that the Departments dont get their act together?? This scenario has been going on now for 25 years..... how do I know because I was out there when they first put these Shacks up working as a Tour Rep.
Its a great place to meet up the shacks provide a service to the Visitors its a win win situ so why oh why do they drag their heels delaying all it does is damage the local econonmy its so silly and someone needs to get this done the minute the season draws to close for the next coming season so their isnt any hold ups being a travel agent and selling Goa all year round majority of all my clients say their favorite bit of their holiday and what they enjoy most is the fact that they can go and relax at these shacks get something to eat drink listen to a little music somewhere to get out of the feirce mid - day heat !!!! come on GOA sort your niggly outstanding shack isssues and get with the programme before its over you only have 18weeks left!!!!!http://www.goabeachre sorts.co.uk
