I just told you why.
Confident?
A very confident New Gingrich asserted to ABC News Thursday afternoon that he will be the Republican presidential nominee.
Im going to be the nominee, the former Speaker Newt Gingrich told ABC News. Its very hard not to look at the recent polls and think that the odds are very high Im going to be the nominee.
They are not going to be the nominee. I dont have to go around and point out the inconsistencies of people who are not going to be the nominee. They are not going to be the nominee.
That kind of "confidence"?
No, not that king of confidence.
Gingrich has confidence. Probably wrong, but nonetheless the point on this conversation has to do with financial backing, right? Gingrich is so "confident" that he is downsizing his campaign. Obama is so "confident" that he is outspending all the GOP candidates. Obama has no competition in the Democrat field.

I'm still not sure that you have justified your position by comparing Gingrich to Obama as their spending habits are completely different, while both appear to be "confident?

When the republican nominee is chosen, watch their spending double they have to do the same thing Obama is already doing, as a candidate you can concentrate your spending on several states at one time, as a nominee, you have to focus on the entire country.
It's the way it has always been, being the incumbent you will spend more money because your priorities are different than a "candidate".
