We are finally getting what the Republicans have
been wanting for years, a whole bunch of government
employees hammered off.
And what the hey, government employment is all
socialism anyway (as per conservative doctrine)
so why not seize the opportunity to get rid of a
few million of them?
Just think of what a great nation we could have
if there were no more government. No regulations.
No oversight. No infrastructure. Etc., etc., etc.
Conservative heaven.
Obama initiated this sequester because he wanted to kick the can down the road - well the time now is here - he had over a year to fix the problem without the sequester taking place but again he done nothing. Now he is trying to blame the GOP - won't happen this time - the people are getting smart as to his tactics.

That's not true, the Sequester was a proposal Boehner sought in exchange for having the republicans raise the credit ceiling, and by Boehner's own admission was 98% of what he wanted in negotiations with President Obama.

You guys have not forgotten the economic hostage situation where the republicans were holding the virtual gun to the head of the nation using the credit down grade as leverage.

This was part of the same 2011 credit ceiling crisis that produced Republican demanded cuts to the State Department and as a consequence the murder of Ambassador Stevens.

The 2011 Budget Control Act.... amazing how to the individual GOP Supporters can all claim forgetfulness when it's time to stand up and be accountable for their antics.

Nonsense. Sequester is just a name.
The real name is the Budget Control Act.

The House passed the Budget Control Act on August 1, 2011 by a vote of 269–161. 174 Republicans and 95 Democrats voted for it, while 66 Republicans and 95 Democrats voted against it.

Either plenty of blame to go around or plenty of credit.

Depends on how one looks at it.

Republicans want smaller government and they are
going to get. Thousands of government workers will
lose their jobs. It's called "starving the beast."
Trouble is that it will carry over
into the private sector since so much of the private
sector relies on government, the public sector,
doing its job.

But,as Grover Norquist, the Republican Pope, put it
"reduce government to the size where it can be drowned
in a bathtub."

Republicans want to shrink government? One way to do
it is to cut off the funding. Ergo: Sequestration.

I know we will have to wait and see what happens but the Government jobs - we are hearing on the news - that the people will have to take one day off every other week and they will not be laid off it will be a one day cut in pay. I do not want anyone to lose their job, the unemployment rate is too high now.

On Meet the Press this morning it was said the "WH needs to STOP THE SCARE TACTICS." David Gregory is a Dem, his guest were both Dem and Rep and it was the Dems that stated that comment. It was also stated that this is not a drop in the hat to take care of the budget. It was also stated the stock market is holding also.

What is there to fear? Reduced program funding only means a reduction in citizen services. For republicans, you don't believe in citizen services and those services creating a path for economic prosperity.

Just think of any loss services as a preview of the government small enough to drown in a bathtub.

If I were watching Fox News, I'd do the same. Maybe that's why Fox "News" (!) is dropping in the ratings.

As spoken by a registered windbag.
I must say, Mr. Butt, your "superiority" (:>)) over Hagel and Obama is quite droll. Pad those knuckles for your next walk.
