Sounds like something this lowly airline would do. Their service is inferior, they have old planes, they are overdue for being shipped out.
This airline has very little non stop service to other countries, and seem to think they can dictate how long one can go.

If you want superior service use WestJet. New planes too. They have non stop service, no stopovers in the US, they are in Canada.
