Can the face of Stephen Harper motivate Canadians to pay for The New York Times?

When a paywall was developed for online readers of The New York Times two years ago, Canada was the first place it took effect, as the smaller market was seen as ideal for testing technology designed to getting American readers to pay for their online news.
